£10,000 per year for up to three years. Funding is available to organisations (including
schools) that work with young people who are suffering from illness, distress, abuse or
neglect, are disabled, have behavioural or psychological difficulties and / or are living in
poverty or situations of deprivation.

education, welfare, medical, religion, youth and environment. The Foundation only
considers applications from UK registered charities (unless you have exempt status as
a church, educational establishment, hospital or housing corporation). The Foundation
will fund project costs, but hesitates to fund a specific salary.
Applications should be sent by post. There are no formal deadlines, but organisations
should allow four months for a final outcome. Application forms can be downloaded

accounts and annual report.

three years for core costs or the running costs of a specific project).
The Small Grants Programme is for grants of under £10,000 per year. To be eligible
for a small grant, your annual income must be below £150,000.

The Jill Franklin Trust is looking to support the following activities:
• Self-Help groups, advice, training, and employment; to support people with a
mental illness or learning difficulties, and their carers (parents etc.).
• Respite care, and holidays (in the UK only). Grants for holidays are only given
where there is a large element of respite care and only to registered charities,
not to individuals.
• Organisations helping and supporting refugees and asylum-seekers coming to
or are in the UK.
• The restoration (not “improvement”) of churches of architectural importance (half
a page in Pevsner’s Buildings) and occasionally to other buildings of
architectural importance. The church should be open to visitors every day.

Grants are available to groups or charities looking to develop projects that will help to
educate people about money/debt/consumer issues. Projects must adhere to the
following criteria:
• Projects must assist people to improve their quality of life through knowledge
and understanding of how to manage and take control of their own financial
situation.
• Groups will need to demonstrate that they have researched and assessed the
need for the project.
• Groups must demonstrate that the project will make a significant difference to
the beneficiaries so the OUTPUTS must be achievable, measurable, deliverable
within budget and within a time frame and be sustainable.
• Groups will also need to show that the project will also provide outcomes that
will benefit their wider communities.

4. • It will be necessary for groups to demonstrate that they has the skills, ability and
experience to deliver the project.
• The MSE Charity will consider full project cost recovery, but costs must only
relate to the project itself and not the organisations core funding.
• Projects must provide value for money
• Projects should seek to provide long term solutions rather than short one off
events.
• For existing projects with a proven success record, consideration will only be
given to those that can demonstrate that funding will be used to extend the
project beyond its existing boundaries in terms of the scope of project, number
of beneficiaries and/or time frame.

applications will be considered by the Trustees.

Charity will give grants to charitable organisations assisting disadvantaged youth,
people with disabilities and older people. Organisations can apply for grants towards

The Charity will consider capital funding for the following projects and schemes:
• Disadvantaged/underprivileged young people (persons under 25)
o Supported housing schemes and educational and training projects to
encourage disadvantaged young people who may be homeless and/or
unemployed away from crime, substance/alcohol misuse and
homelessness.
o Facilities for recreational activities and outdoor pursuits specifically for
young people who are educationally or socially underprivileged or
disadvantaged
• People with disabilities (physical or learning disabilities or mental health
problems)
o Residential, respite care, occupational and recreational establishments
for children, young people and adults with physical or learning disabilities
or enduring mental health problems
• Older people (aged over 60)
o Day centres, nursing and residential homes, sheltered accommodation
and respite care for the frail or sufferers from dementia or age related

o Projects to encourage older people to maintain their independence.
