Fredrick Mwachofi is a smallholder dairy farmer in Kenya who participated in training supported by USAID's KAVES program. The training taught him better agricultural practices like animal feeding, health, and land management. He began feeding his cows Sudan grass, which increased their milk production from 2-3 liters per day to 12 liters. This allowed him to earn over $140 per month selling milk, supporting his family and saving money. The KAVES program aims to increase incomes for 500,000 smallholder farmers through training and promoting sustainable practices.
