2. Harambee International Development (HID) is a
nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the
quality of life and promoting self-sufficiency and
business development for individuals and
communities in Africa. HID is dedicated to
providing essential services and assistance to those
in need through its clean water systems, educational,
agricultural, micro-credit and health programs.
Our Vision
HID’s vision is to develop a series of successful
developmental program models that can be repeated,
sustained and transferred across national, cultural
and environmental boundaries.
Our Mission
HID’s mission is to collaborate with African
governments, U.S. Government and other
organizations to develop sustainable clean water
systems, agricultural, educational, medical and
economic development programs to reduce poverty
in the country.

Internal Revenue Service Code.

field office in Soroti, Uganda.

secondary and college education

Kits include animals, food, clothing, farm
tools, plows, seeds and business educational

Awarded U.S. Embassy/Ambassador’s grant
to develop oxen farming, economic
development project in Lira, Uganda

Revolving fund to assist individuals and small
groups establish business enterprises
Low interest rate loans with flexible
repayment plans to insure the successful
repayment of the money

Distribute medical supplies, medical
equipment and educational information to
health care facilities and community health
organizations

Reduce the incidence of water-related diseases
by building wells that provide sources of clean,
uncontaminated water
Recent Activities
Agriculture
□ Purchased and provided cattle to needy families
to initiate self-sustaining wealth and health
development.
□ First-born calves were returned to the project for
redistribution to other needy families.
Food and Clothing Distribution
□ Distributed food and clothing to individuals
living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP)
camps who were driven away from their
homelands due to war and violence.
Clean Water
□ Funded numerous boreholes/water wells in the
Soroti, Uganda area to provide fresh and
uncontaminated water to reduce the spread of
water-borne diseases and illness.
