1) The document is a presentation on climate change by Mr. Virender Chhachhiya for the Department of Geography at Panjab University Chandigarh.
2) It discusses the definitions of climate and climate change, causes of climate change including both natural factors and human activities, and effects of climate change on various systems.
3) Solutions to address climate change discussed include mitigation efforts in the energy sector, shifting to renewable energy, individual actions, and international cooperation through frameworks such as the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol.
Building upon existing infrastructure for Mobile Applications with WSO2Anthony Carlson
The document summarizes how an agricultural lending company, FCSAmerica, built upon its existing infrastructure to develop mobile applications using the WSO2 platform. It discusses FCSAmerica and its customers, its need to enter the mobile space, and how it used WSO2 for data, security, and deployment. It describes the overall design goals of supporting mobility while leveraging existing infrastructure and APIs, as well as the results of increased customer deposits and positive customer feedback since implementing the new mobile applications.
This document discusses open source and Mozilla. It introduces Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, Persona, Seamonkey, Firefox OS, TogetherJS, and Firefox OS Marketplace as products of Mozilla. It asks how many people use versus create the web. It then discusses the Webmaker Project and other Mozilla projects like the Firefox Student Ambassador Program. The presenter is Sai Charan Reddy.
The document discusses eliminating the "bus factor" in software development teams. The bus factor refers to the number of key developers that would need to be incapacitated to prevent a project from continuing. The document presents six concepts for shared responsibility and knowledge sharing to eliminate single points of failure: 1) shared responsibility not roles, 2) leadership as a practice, 3) agile methodology adaptable to the team, 4) making processes simple, 5) overcommunication, and 6) increasing product ownership. The goal is for no one person to be indispensable, and for the team approach to development to continue if any individual is unavailable.
This document summarizes the key steps of the simplex method for solving linear programming problems:
1) It provides an example problem and shows how to write it using slack variables in standard form.
2) It explains how to identify an initial "dictionary solution" and check if it is feasible. If not feasible, phase 1 is used to find an initial feasible solution.
3) It demonstrates the process of pivoting - choosing an entering variable to improve the objective and leaving variable - at each iteration until an optimal solution is found.
4) It discusses how to handle cases where the initial solution is unbounded or infeasible using phase 1 and pivoting to find an initial feasible solution before phase
Building Upon Existing Infrastructure for Mobile ApplicationsAnthony Carlson
Has your company ever wanted to enter the mobile application space? What if your existing infrastructure could be your best asset. In 2013 Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica), wanted to enter the mobile application space with a mobile app for customers. FCSA needed to change the thought process on designing a mobile infrastructure for this app. Yet reusing what already exists in the enterprise, but not just expose services to the world for mobile. This session will discuss the benefits, challenges and results of implementing a API Management solution into an existing infrastructure.

Italy does not have a formal policy for design promotion. Instead, the government focuses on supporting innovative new firms and modernizing traditional medium firms through technology hubs and business incubators. Private, non-profit design associations also promote design through cultural debate and competitions supported by local governments. Additionally, international design fairs are held annually in Italian cities to share new ideas and products with designers, companies, investors, customers, and influencers.
