This document analyzes factors that impact household electricity savings in summer 2011. It outlines preliminary research conducted including measuring electricity usage of appliances and reviewing their power ratings. Statistical analysis was performed on energy saving data using regression models. Results show single person households can contribute to reducing brownouts by decreasing standby power usage and adjusting refrigerators during peak times. Air conditioners were found to have the most potential for savings, with about 50W reduced per 1 degree temperature increase.
