Introduction
Weed is said to be the largest menace for the
farmers, which is taking about 20% of the
total cost of production to control.
As far as the new trends in Agriculture are
concerned one should go for the integrated
management of weed is an essential thing to
reduces the cost of production.
Awareness about this technology among the
farmers requires training unit which provide
them the practical knowledge of integrated
weed management.

Objectives
 To provide training to the farmers for
effective weed management.
 To provide integrated weed management
strategies to the farmers.
 To provide low cost technologies for
controlling weed in field crops.

Technical Knowledge
 Knowledge about different weeds of the
South Gujarat region, life history, biology
and its growth habit.
 Knowledge of crop weed competition.
 Knowledge of integrated weed
management tactics.
 A person should have clear cut
information about cropping pattern in area
& Agronomical practices in which unit is
to be establishes.

Location of the project
 Navsari agricultural university farm,
Navsari.
Justification
Because KVK is located in the campus
And farmers have more trust on the
university.
As It is in Agriculture University, farmer
can easily consult it.

we can diversified to the commercial
weed management of farmers field.
• We can also multiply project for another
location.

 Weed management is very important aspect in agriculture.
 Due to weed problem every year farmer
suffered from so many difficulties like low production.
 High cost of management & requirement of proper agricultural
practices.
 It is very imp. to take the interest of the farmers towards weed
management by regular works.
 By arranging seminar, gram sabha, during that I will provide low
cost method for weed management.
