2. Skills of the day: Personification: Applying human qualities to something that is not a person. Simile: Creating a comparison by stating that one is “like” or “as” another.
3. Personification Without personification: The sun blazed above the streets and the factory above the town. An example with personification: The sun gazed with wonder at her sleepy city ; she embraced the cooing factory and restless streets of the town while the warmth of her radiant hair and gentle whispers fell gracefully upon the wind and lifted the houses below from nighttime’s precious crib.
