Connor's family moves to a new school where he is bullied, but he lies to impress a girl by saying he is in a band. He then starts a real band with his friends and overcomes challenges from the school head and the girl's ex-boyfriend. By falling in love with the girl, gaining friends, and fighting the school head, Connor transforms from a victim to a hero and finds acceptance at his new school through his music.
