2. Bad neighbours was released in 2014 and is about a young family who get
some surprising neighbours. The film is set in a stereotypical American
suburb and focuses on the young family and a Frat next to them. The young
family attempt to fit in with the Frat boys but instead make enemies with
them and form a rivalry.Throughout the film they both try to one-up one
another with various pranks which makes for great comedy until the grand
finale and a resolution at the end.The film uses violent and dark comedy in
places with crude language and actions present.
Our film may take inspiration from this but will be different
as the content will not appeal to our target audience or the
certificate we are aiming for.
3. We're the Millers is a comedy centred around a "family" that was
made on the fly. With a drug-dealing father, stripper mum, nerdy son
and rebellious teen
daughter it's not the average American family. The family has to
undertake a trip to Mexico for the father's boss as he owes him
money, this takes the "family" on an adventure full of mishap and
misfortune. The comedy within this film is dark
and witty with physical gags being used often.
4. Home Alone was released in 1990 and tells the tale of a young boy being left
at home whilst his family is on holiday over the Christmas break. During his
time left alone a pair of incompetent burglars target his houseThe film is a
PG certificate and the comedy within is really light and fun for all with heavy
use of practical effects as well as the acting of the child. The films target
audience would be families and small children as the child is the protagonist.
Our film can take inspiration from this as the certificate
is low similar to ours, this film is really popular and successful.
By emulating some elements of this film we can further
our reach into our target audience.
