Before examining South Australia’s wine
industry, let us begin with Australia’s
wine history. In today’s world,
Australia wine industry
is one of the top five largest
exporters of wine to the
international wine marketplace
in the world. Australia’s wine is
making in every state but mainly
located in Southern part of the
Australia due to the cold climate
and fertile soils. According to
Wikipedia, Australian consumed
over 530 million litres yearly which
will fill up about 212 standard
swimming pools (Wikipedia).
It all began with when grapes were
imported from Europe as Australia
had no native grape for wine making
at the early age and the first batch of vines
were being imported into Australia from Brazil
and Cape of Good Hope by Captain Arthur Phillip
in 1788 and successfully harvested in 1791. With
witnessing of these successes, it does encourage
other settlers to start a small vineyard in several
states in 1820 to 1840.
Famous wineries surrounded South Australia are
considered as the Australia’s most prominent and
well-known winemaker that contributes over half of
the Australia’s wine production yearly. And every last
bit of it began with a settler who named John Barton
Hack revealed as the earliest vine planting in 1836 in
Chichester Gardens located in North Adelaide. After
the spread of urban growth, Hack’s vines were pulled
up and replanted in another vineyard at Echunga
Springs. But what makes South Australia
wine industry so famous and
being able to supply a high
amount of fine wine is because of the
climate and geology in SA.
Australia is such a vast nation that almost every
climate and soil type can be found.
This advantage implies that we
can produce all kinds of the
wine.
However, the climate and soil
type differ enormously from
each region to another area.
Such a great gift from natural
gives South Australia capable of
developing a large number of
different grapes type and turn
Adelaide into Australia’s wine
capital. Beside of the advantages of
the climate and soil type, South
Australia also spent a lot of energy,
and an enormous amount of money
invest into two national wine research
centres for making the best wine.
However, in only two hundred years, South Australian
wine industry has grown from a small planting to an
industry that famous all through the world for
quality, innovation, and depth. Also, South Australia
is one of the main importers of wine all over the
world. Australian wines have won many honours at
nearly every international wine tournament such as
“Wine of the year” and the “Tourism Award”. The
wine has been admired by most of the Australian
society and it has become a part of South Australia’s
culture. The ascent in the prevalence of wine
allotment courses has demonstrated that Australians
are not kidding about their wine.
According to research, wine contributed
more than $2 billion towards to
the South Australia economy
and exported to more than 100
nations in 2015.

The Barossa Valley is known as the home of Australia’s wine
industry. Barossa Valley is brimming with a fabulous view,
fantastic food and apparently South Australian wine. German
pioneers settled the region in the 1850s, and much of their
beautiful architecture remains until today. The Barossa Valley

Barossa Valley is also home to a lot of various wineries, and
the wines that produced by them are sold out quickly as the

The best Australia red wines are made in Coonawarra wineries
without a single doubt. They produce the most exceptional red

and the rich soil that harvest the best grade grapes. The

background. Also, the Cabernet Sauvignon as known as “the king
of grapes” and Shiraz is a huge success in Wrattonbully wine re-
gion due to the unique climate and fertile soil.
Limestone Coast
Riverland region supply more than a quarter of the Australian

The Riverland area picks up the name from the Australia’s longer
river called Murray River. The grape and fruit in the Riverlands
are fresh and delicious because of the water system that
tguarantees the watering supplements to the fruit. The climate in
Riverlands is gentle with warm summers, and this is one of the
reasons why the production of the grape is so high. The Riverland
is known primarily for its Chardonnay wine. Moreover, it also
