2. Introduction
BrandedSac has the pleasure of meeting extraordinary
people daily. One in particular is Rich Sampognaro,
signage expert and president of Capital City Signs, Inc.
Capital City Signs is a full service sign company located in
Sacramento, offering consultation, design, fabrication,
installation and maintenance.
We got together with Rich to discuss the top benefits of
having signage for your business. Not just a sign that is
haphazardly thrown up in front of your store, but a well
thought out and designed product.
In addition to the pleasant conversation, Rich provided a
few photos from behind the scenes of some signage
projects he has completed. One of which you should Before
recognize… wink * wink. We have received so many
compliments since installing our sign, and it really
completes the look and feel of our office.
3. First Impressions
For any business to customer entity or businesses with a
office, or a storefront, signage is crucial. It is one of the
first impressions they will have of your business.
Additionally, signage can aid attracting new customers
who might otherwise drive right on by.
Signage shows the community that you are there, open &
ready for business. It can also provide a sense of
professionalism, and shows your business is an established
and recognized entity in your area.

4. Tells the Story
Having well thought out and designed signage should
convey to some degree who you are, and what your
business does. In some cases, well designed signage
will give insight into the nature of your organization,
and the values your business holds.
The top sign completed for the Sacramento
River Cats, shows key elements: the team name,
area, and a graphic (baseball). The Tomato St. Grill, it
should be apparent that they are a restaurant, which
most likely is serving some form of Italian food.
5. Branded Image
In addition to the other great reasons listed, this last
one aligns most with what we are always telling clients.
Having a consistent look, feel, and representation of
your business in all mediums is vital. Your businesses
signage (interior or exterior) should follow your brand
guidelines, and/or resemble any branded pieces you
have created via web, print, social etc.
This sign completed for Renwood Winery in Plymouth,
CA takes the branded image to a whole new level. Rich
incorporated Renwood’s old wine barrel staves for the
sign backer, giving a unique rustic feel. Renwood
Winery prides themselves on the history, and close-knit
nature of their rural country home.
