The Siddha System of Medicine is one of the oldest
medical systems in India.
It is an ancient science deeply rooted in Dravidian
culture.
 The system addresses over 4,448 disease symptoms and
their remedies.
Thousands of herbs and minerals are included in
Siddha treatments, which focus on both acute and
chronic diseases.
Effective for chronic to degenerative and viral to
cardiac diseases.

DRUGS ARE CLASSIFIED BASED ON SOURCE:
Thaavaram: Herbal substances (plants, leaves, roots,
seeds)
Thadu: Inorganic substances (minerals and metals)
Jangamam:Animal substances (products derived
from animals, such as milk, bones)
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Internal medicine:Taken orally; classified into 32
categories.
External medicine:Applied topically (skin, eyes,
ears); also classified into 32 categories.
UNIQUE FEATURES
Only in Siddha medicine is the use of metals
and minerals such as gold, silver, sulfur, zinc,
and mica common.
Metals and minerals are processed using
special methods to ensure safety and efficacy.
