President George E. Ross
Fire Up Chips!
On behalf of Central Michigan University, welcome to
Siblings Weekend 2016!
Our CMU family is excited to host our students and
their guests to a weekend engaged in fun-filled
activities. Get ready to laugh, make new friends and
create great memories.
Thank you to all of the staff and students that planned
this event. The efforts they put forth are greatly
appreciated.
Let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more enjoyable. The
campus and local community are happy you chose to join us in Mount Pleasant.
Thank you for taking part in our fine tradition of “Sibs” Weekend. Students have
been coming together on campus at CMU for more than 50 years to give special
guests a chance to experience college life. Thank you for helping to make our
campus community more vibrant this weekend. Whether you eat in a residential
restaurant, attend a sports clinic, or go to the movies, please be sure to explore
CMU’s beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities.
We have more than 200 academic programs—many that are considered among
the best in the United States—plus hands-on research opportunities, and a faculty
devoted to student learning. I am confident that you will find your passion here
at CMU – this time for the weekend, but I hope you may also come back in the
future as a proud CMU student.
Education has the power to transform lives, communities, nations and the world.
Welcome to CMU where we prepare you to Put your Stamp on the World
Siblings ID Bracelet Security procedures require that all participants wear their ID bracelet. ID bracelets are
required for admission to each event. If you lose your ID bracelet, find a committee member in a white shirt to
replace it. Should you need a replacement, proper identification is required in order to receive the replacement ID
bracelet. Your ID bracelet must be visible at all functions during Siblings Weekend.
Age Restrictions Weight Training Center in the SAC requires you to be 16 years or older. Fitness Center in the SAC
is 12-15 years old with adult or parental consent.
Lost & Found Any items lost on Friday and Saturday will be kept at the information booth in the Student Activity
Center from 1:30 - 5 PM on Saturday, January, 30th. Items will be kept with the Siblings Weekend Committee
members until Sunday, January 31st, 2016. After Sunday, you can contact the Siblings Weekend Committee at (989)
774-3016 or sibsCMU@cmich.edu.
Security The security crew responsible for checking ID bracelets at activities consists of all the Siblings Weekend
volunteers. This crew can assist participants in locating the proper staff needed to alleviate a problem. Please treat
them with respect and consideration.
Photographs As mentioned on the registration materials, the Siblings Weekend Committee photographs
performances and attendees. These photographs may be used in future promotional materials and publications. By
attending the event, you give us your permission to use photographs in which you appear for these purposes.
Late Registration Siblings Weekend Registration/Check-In will be located on the 3rd floor of the Bovee University
Center 8 - 10 PM. Registration will be Friday, January 29th from 3 PM to 7 PM, and again in Finch on Saturday,
January 30th from 8 AM to 11 PM.
Cell Phones & Electronic Devices In an effort to provide a quality environment, all participants are strongly
encouraged to turn off all cellular devices during performances. Please respect those presenting and their work by
cooperating with this expectation. Any of the before mentioned items may serve as a distraction to the presenter or
performer.
Residence Halls We have a great relationship with the Office of Residence Life and have been able to work with
them on every aspect of our program. Residence Life does not allow more than twelve individuals in a room at any
time due to fire safety restrictions. Those who are planning on having their siblings stay with them in the residence
halls need to inform their roommates so that there is not more than allowed in the room. CMU students and their
guests are required to abide by all Residence Life and Campus Policies while on campus.
Emergency Information Contact any Siblings Weekend Volunteer. Volunteers can be identified by their gold
program shirts. Volunteers can notify the Core Team, which are denoted by their Sibs Weekend white long sleeve
shirts. Immediate danger should be reported to the CMU Police by calling 774-3081. Core Team members will have
emergency information and can contact the CMU Police for further assistance.
Parking Information Parking may be limited and larger due to other University sporting events.
Siblings Weekend began at CMU in February 1963. It was first organized by Larzelere Hall Council. The weekend
quickly grew in popularity and over the next few years all residence halls began holding their own Siblings
Weekend. In the late 1970’s the residence halls joined forces and held the first Little Siblings Weekend.
By 1980 the program had almost reached extinction. In 1986, Residence Hall Assembly decided to save the
program and worked hard to get everyone on the same page. They also enlisted the help of the Student
Government Association who put together a carnival. The program again grew but ran into a lot of coordination
problems and lacked financial resources.
In 1992, the Office of Student Life began to assist with the coordination of the program and by 1999, the Office of
Student Life had completely taken over the responsibility of planning Siblings Weekend. In 2000, the committee
decided to remove the name “Little” from the name of the event in an effort to encourage more people of all ages to
attend.
Siblings Weekend registered 3,500 participants in 2002. In the last few years, Siblings Weekend has registered
over 6,000 participants making Siblings Weekend the biggest and most extensive campus event in the history of
CMU. Its long history as a program at CMU has locked its place in our hearts.

Ben Sobczak Co-Chair Bad Axe, MI
Junior, Major: Accounting Minor: Information Systems
I was the registration core leader last year and enjoyed being involved with one aspect of Sibs. This year I really wanted to work
with all aspects and be able to empower more student leaders to put on a bigger and better Sibs than every before. The Chair
position has allowed me to do that and so much more. I love campus programming and Sibs, along with its long history on
campus, it’s the best of both worlds.
Brad Barlog Co-Chair Macomb Township, MI
Junior, Major: Commercial Recreation and Event Management; Minor: Leadership and Management
I wanted to be a part of Siblings Weekend 2016 because I wanted to explore a new opportunity within the Student Activities and
Involvement Office. With being a Commercial Recreation and Event Management major, I wanted to get hands on experience of
running and event with all of the logistics and planning that goes into it. With having over 2,000+ siblings attend, this is a huge
opportunity for me. I also enjoy working with younger children and seeing their big smiles when they come to campus for this
weekend each year. It brings the entire Central Michigan University Campus together and it is the highlight of our university each
and every year!
Ashley Flickinger Special Events Committee Chair Brimley, MI
Junior, Major: Therapeutic Recreation; Minor: Psychology and Leadership
I joined the 2016 Sib's Weekend Core Staff because I wanted to get more involved with the office of Student Activities and
Involvement and help plan campus wide events. I love planning events and working with children so what a better place to start
than on the Sib's committee! I have really learned a lot from the other members of this committee and have gained a lot of valuable
knowledge that can be applied to various areas in my life. I hope that you all have as much fun at Sib's Weekend 2016, as we had
planning it!
Kaitlyn Bradley Registration Committee Chair Crystal Falls, MI
Sophomore, Major: Health Administration; Minor: Accounting
I joined the 2016 Sib’s Weekend Core Staff because I love coordinating events and because I loved being involved with Sib’s
Weekend last year. I not only gained new skills that I can carry with me, but also a new group of friends and memories I will never
forget! Fire up for Sib’s and have a great weekend!
Rachel Rosonke Volunteer Committee Chair Rochester Hills, MI
Senior, Major: Child Development
SIBS has always been one of the best weekends of the year for me since I was a freshman. My freshmen year I was a participant
with my little sister, and the past two years I was a committee member. For my last SIBS, I decided I wanted to give back to SIBS
and help out as much as possible, so I applied to be a core leader! It has been such a great experience so far and I am hoping
that all of the participants can have as great experiences as me!
Chianne Jolly Carnival Committee Chair Farmington Hills, MI
Sophomore, Major: Apparel Merchandising; Minor: Professionals
So far at CMU I have gotten involved with Program Board, Siblings Weekend, Office of Student Activities and Involvement, and the
Student Government Association. I decided to join the siblings weekend committee for a second time because I enjoy putting the
carnival together and watching all the siblings have fun. .
Taylor Lopiccolo Logistics Committee Chair Cheboyga, MI
Senior, Major: Commerial Recreation and Event Management; Minor: Hospitality & Leadership
I served as the 2015 Special Events Coordinator - and loved it! I reapplied to gain new experiences, meet new people, and stay
involved!
Shelby Harris Entertainment Committee Chair Canton, MI
Junior, Major: Commercial Recreation and Event Management; Minor: Hospitality
I went to SIBS the last two years with my younger sisters and we all loved it. I applied to be on staff because I love planning events
and I am passionate about talking with kids about college, and showing them all the great things CMU has to offer.
Claire Forrest Sponsorhip Brimley, MI
Junior, Major: Hospitality Services Administration
I applied for the Sibs Core Committee not only because I feel that it is great practice for my future career goal of becoming an
event coordinator, but because when I have volunteered for Sibs in the past, I loved the atmosphere and inclusion. There are
activities for sibs of all ages and I think that it is important that your siblings get a taste of college early on in life to motivate them to
reach for higher education as well. I am super close with my own Siblings so to get the chance to take a weekend and devote it
entirely to sibling bonding is right up my alley! We have an amazing weekend planned and I am so excited to share it with all of
you!
Allison Tobey Public Relations Committee Chair Battle Creek, MI
Sophomore, Major: Public Relations; Minor: Marketing
I applied to be on the Sib’s committee because I wanted to gain more PR experience, get involved on campus and also because I
love kids! Working with Sib’s has been such an amazing experience. I hope everyone that attends enjoys the many great activities
we have put together!
We would also like to thank our sub-committee members for their hard work, creativity and devotion to Sibling’s
Weekend.

Have fun thisweekend, be safe, and President George E. Ross Fire Up Chips! On behalf of Central Michigan University, welcome to Siblings Weekend 2016! Our CMU family is excited to host our students and their guests to a weekend engaged in fun-filled activities. Get ready to laugh, make new friends and create great memories. Thank you to all of the staff and students that planned this event. The efforts they put forth are greatly appreciated. Let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more enjoyable. The campus and local community are happy you chose to join us in Mount Pleasant. Thank you for taking part in our fine tradition of “Sibs” Weekend. Students have been coming together on campus at CMU for more than 50 years to give special guests a chance to experience college life. Thank you for helping to make our campus community more vibrant this weekend. Whether you eat in a residential restaurant, attend a sports clinic, or go to the movies, please be sure to explore CMU’s beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities. We have more than 200 academic programs—many that are considered among the best in the United States—plus hands-on research opportunities, and a faculty devoted to student learning. I am confident that you will find your passion here at CMU – this time for the weekend, but I hope you may also come back in the future as a proud CMU student. Education has the power to transform lives, communities, nations and the world. Welcome to CMU where we prepare you to Put your Stamp on the World Siblings ID Bracelet Security procedures require that all participants wear their ID bracelet. ID bracelets are required for admission to each event. If you lose your ID bracelet, find a committee member in a white shirt to replace it. Should you need a replacement, proper identification is required in order to receive the replacement ID bracelet. Your ID bracelet must be visible at all functions during Siblings Weekend. Age Restrictions Weight Training Center in the SAC requires you to be 16 years or older. Fitness Center in the SAC is 12-15 years old with adult or parental consent. Lost & Found Any items lost on Friday and Saturday will be kept at the information booth in the Student Activity Center from 1:30 - 5 PM on Saturday, January, 30th. Items will be kept with the Siblings Weekend Committee members until Sunday, January 31st, 2016. After Sunday, you can contact the Siblings Weekend Committee at (989) 774-3016 or sibsCMU@cmich.edu. Security The security crew responsible for checking ID bracelets at activities consists of all the Siblings Weekend volunteers. This crew can assist participants in locating the proper staff needed to alleviate a problem. Please treat them with respect and consideration. Photographs As mentioned on the registration materials, the Siblings Weekend Committee photographs performances and attendees. These photographs may be used in future promotional materials and publications. By attending the event, you give us your permission to use photographs in which you appear for these purposes. Late Registration Siblings Weekend Registration/Check-In will be located on the 3rd floor of the Bovee University Center 8 - 10 PM. Registration will be Friday, January 29th from 3 PM to 7 PM, and again in Finch on Saturday, January 30th from 8 AM to 11 PM. Cell Phones & Electronic Devices In an effort to provide a quality environment, all participants are strongly encouraged to turn off all cellular devices during performances. Please respect those presenting and their work by cooperating with this expectation. Any of the before mentioned items may serve as a distraction to the presenter or performer. Residence Halls We have a great relationship with the Office of Residence Life and have been able to work with them on every aspect of our program. Residence Life does not allow more than twelve individuals in a room at any time due to fire safety restrictions. Those who are planning on having their siblings stay with them in the residence halls need to inform their roommates so that there is not more than allowed in the room. CMU students and their guests are required to abide by all Residence Life and Campus Policies while on campus. Emergency Information Contact any Siblings Weekend Volunteer. Volunteers can be identified by their gold program shirts. Volunteers can notify the Core Team, which are denoted by their Sibs Weekend white long sleeve shirts. Immediate danger should be reported to the CMU Police by calling 774-3081. Core Team members will have emergency information and can contact the CMU Police for further assistance. Parking Information Parking may be limited and larger due to other University sporting events. Siblings Weekend began at CMU in February 1963. It was first organized by Larzelere Hall Council. The weekend quickly grew in popularity and over the next few years all residence halls began holding their own Siblings Weekend. In the late 1970’s the residence halls joined forces and held the first Little Siblings Weekend. By 1980 the program had almost reached extinction. In 1986, Residence Hall Assembly decided to save the program and worked hard to get everyone on the same page. They also enlisted the help of the Student Government Association who put together a carnival. The program again grew but ran into a lot of coordination problems and lacked financial resources. In 1992, the Office of Student Life began to assist with the coordination of the program and by 1999, the Office of Student Life had completely taken over the responsibility of planning Siblings Weekend. In 2000, the committee decided to remove the name “Little” from the name of the event in an effort to encourage more people of all ages to attend. Siblings Weekend registered 3,500 participants in 2002. In the last few years, Siblings Weekend has registered over 6,000 participants making Siblings Weekend the biggest and most extensive campus event in the history of CMU. Its long history as a program at CMU has locked its place in our hearts. History Weekend Policies Student Activitiesand InvolvementInteligence Agency INTELIGENCEAGENCY SAI

Crystal Hutson GraduateProgram Coordinator Office of Student Activities and Involvement, Chicago, IL Master of Science in Apparel Product Development and Merchandising Technology Ben Sobczak Co-Chair Bad Axe, MI Junior, Major: Accounting Minor: Information Systems I was the registration core leader last year and enjoyed being involved with one aspect of Sibs. This year I really wanted to work with all aspects and be able to empower more student leaders to put on a bigger and better Sibs than every before. The Chair position has allowed me to do that and so much more. I love campus programming and Sibs, along with its long history on campus, it’s the best of both worlds. Brad Barlog Co-Chair Macomb Township, MI Junior, Major: Commercial Recreation and Event Management; Minor: Leadership and Management I wanted to be a part of Siblings Weekend 2016 because I wanted to explore a new opportunity within the Student Activities and Involvement Office. With being a Commercial Recreation and Event Management major, I wanted to get hands on experience of running and event with all of the logistics and planning that goes into it. With having over 2,000+ siblings attend, this is a huge opportunity for me. I also enjoy working with younger children and seeing their big smiles when they come to campus for this weekend each year. It brings the entire Central Michigan University Campus together and it is the highlight of our university each and every year! Ashley Flickinger Special Events Committee Chair Brimley, MI Junior, Major: Therapeutic Recreation; Minor: Psychology and Leadership I joined the 2016 Sib's Weekend Core Staff because I wanted to get more involved with the office of Student Activities and Involvement and help plan campus wide events. I love planning events and working with children so what a better place to start than on the Sib's committee! I have really learned a lot from the other members of this committee and have gained a lot of valuable knowledge that can be applied to various areas in my life. I hope that you all have as much fun at Sib's Weekend 2016, as we had planning it! Kaitlyn Bradley Registration Committee Chair Crystal Falls, MI Sophomore, Major: Health Administration; Minor: Accounting I joined the 2016 Sib’s Weekend Core Staff because I love coordinating events and because I loved being involved with Sib’s Weekend last year. I not only gained new skills that I can carry with me, but also a new group of friends and memories I will never forget! Fire up for Sib’s and have a great weekend! Rachel Rosonke Volunteer Committee Chair Rochester Hills, MI Senior, Major: Child Development SIBS has always been one of the best weekends of the year for me since I was a freshman. My freshmen year I was a participant with my little sister, and the past two years I was a committee member. For my last SIBS, I decided I wanted to give back to SIBS and help out as much as possible, so I applied to be a core leader! It has been such a great experience so far and I am hoping that all of the participants can have as great experiences as me! Chianne Jolly Carnival Committee Chair Farmington Hills, MI Sophomore, Major: Apparel Merchandising; Minor: Professionals So far at CMU I have gotten involved with Program Board, Siblings Weekend, Office of Student Activities and Involvement, and the Student Government Association. I decided to join the siblings weekend committee for a second time because I enjoy putting the carnival together and watching all the siblings have fun. . Taylor Lopiccolo Logistics Committee Chair Cheboyga, MI Senior, Major: Commerial Recreation and Event Management; Minor: Hospitality & Leadership I served as the 2015 Special Events Coordinator - and loved it! I reapplied to gain new experiences, meet new people, and stay involved! Shelby Harris Entertainment Committee Chair Canton, MI Junior, Major: Commercial Recreation and Event Management; Minor: Hospitality I went to SIBS the last two years with my younger sisters and we all loved it. I applied to be on staff because I love planning events and I am passionate about talking with kids about college, and showing them all the great things CMU has to offer. Claire Forrest Sponsorhip Brimley, MI Junior, Major: Hospitality Services Administration I applied for the Sibs Core Committee not only because I feel that it is great practice for my future career goal of becoming an event coordinator, but because when I have volunteered for Sibs in the past, I loved the atmosphere and inclusion. There are activities for sibs of all ages and I think that it is important that your siblings get a taste of college early on in life to motivate them to reach for higher education as well. I am super close with my own Siblings so to get the chance to take a weekend and devote it entirely to sibling bonding is right up my alley! We have an amazing weekend planned and I am so excited to share it with all of you! Allison Tobey Public Relations Committee Chair Battle Creek, MI Sophomore, Major: Public Relations; Minor: Marketing I applied to be on the Sib’s committee because I wanted to gain more PR experience, get involved on campus and also because I love kids! Working with Sib’s has been such an amazing experience. I hope everyone that attends enjoys the many great activities we have put together! We would also like to thank our sub-committee members for their hard work, creativity and devotion to Sibling’s Weekend.
