Through this platform of RYLA, we got opportunities to learn, explore our talents and have fun. Staying a night in their facility
in itself is a lot of fun and took us back to the good old school days when we use to go on school-organised outstation trips. It is a
great opportunity for all of us to be a part of it and learn & have fun. RYLA 2010 comprised of various events ranging from
cultural to educational and spiritual. The two-day extravaganza was an awesome experience for more than 150 Rotaractors ,
Interactors and Rotarians who attended.

Rotary names attorney John Hewko

Rotary International News -- 12 January 2011
Rotary International has named John Hewko, an attorney with

sectors, to be the global humanitarian service organization’s new

dedicated, professional staff -- is a powerful resource that
is making a meaningful global and grassroots contribution
to that goal. Just look at what Rotary already has
accomplished in the area of polio prevention and
eradication.”
Historic Moments -- RI themes
E ach January, as Rotary district governors-elect convene at the International Assembly for training and fellowship, they can be
certain of two things: a lot of take-home reading and the announcement of a new RI theme.
The tradition of crafting a theme is credited to 1949-50 RI President Percy C. Hodgson, who outlined a list of four objectives for his term in office. Among
them were the better application of the principles of vocational service and dedication to world understanding and peace through international service
programs.
Though Hodgson's 83-word proclamation ran substantially longer than today's shorter, punchier themes, Rotarians' desire to celebrate and support their
president's annual program of service has remained the same. Other early themes include Rotary Is Hope in Action (Joaquin Serratosa Cibils, 1953-
54), Kindle the Spark Within (Nitish C. Laharry, 1962-63), and Good Will Begins with You (Ernst G. Breitholtz, 1971-72).
In the decades that followed, RI presidents introduced theme logos, lapel pins, ties, and scarves. Theme ties were introduced in the 1990s, and are now
given out yearly. Many have incorporated the theme for the year. The first scarves showing the RI theme were designed by 1998-99 RI President James
L. Lacy and his wife, Claudine, Follow Your Rotary Dream .
From what we get we make a Living ; from what we give we make a life .

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs
are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes
them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary.
Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they
also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international
understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
