Shopaholic Do you love to shop till you drop?
What is a Shopaholic? A shopaholic is somebody who is addicted to shopping. Shopaholics are compulsive shoppers who suffer from uncontrolled overspending. Shopaholics are individuals who can't control their spending. For those people, buying something is makes them feel great. For shopaholics overspending becomes an addiction, one that is very hard to overcome.
Causes Emotional deprivation in childhood. Inability to tolerate negative feelings. Need to fill an inner void. Excitement seeking. Perfectionism. Need to gain control.
Consequences Ruined relationships as a result of your overspending. Debt that can take years to pay off. Ruining your credit can affect your ability to make more important purchases later in life. Feelings of guilt and worthlessness, because you can't buy true happiness and all of your purchases are temporary.
Explication : (with modals) Interview with a shopaholic: 1.May I take away your credit cards ? A:ok, but a little moment. 2.Shall I go to your closet. A:ok. 3.You should leave your adiction. A:Yes, I know. 4.I must help you with your adiction. A:Thanks. 5.Can you commit to try to stop their addiction, please? A:Yes, of course. 6.Could I go to the mall with you, please? A:Yes, lets go!
The difference The difference between an ordinary spender and a shopaholic is that for a shopaholic, one purchase leads to another and the thrill of buying often outweighs consideration for the consequences of overspending that follows. Splurging occasionally can be a nice treat, but do you spend a dollar every time you have one in your hand?
