Ria decorates a room with newspapers to simulate a student flat on a limited budget. Photos are added of a teacher to imply students' affection for him, but also of his family to show he is married. Mugs and alcohol are included as typical items found at student parties. Will lines up drugs to realistically portray events at such parties, hoping viewers will relate to the scene and want to watch more. The filming uses a steady cam, which took practice to operate but helped capture the party atmosphere successfully.
this was the presentation i did for my preliminary task and it had a lot of detail of what we needed to do and what we polished. hope you like it and any feedback will be appreciated.

2. Here you can see Ria putting
up newspapers on the walls
to create a sense of Mise en
Scene. Students are often
unable to afford paint and
proper wall-paper so use
cheaper alternatives as we
see here.
3. We tried to make it seem more
realistic by adding writing such as
“class of 2k13”. We also added a
picture of Mr. Jones with hearts
around it to try and show that
students “love” him. But we also
added a picture of his family to show
that he is a married man with
children. Later in the trailer we see
why this is relevant.
Having mugs in the background
also helps Mise en Scene as
student flats are likely to have
mugs lying around. The alcohol is
also an essential in any students
party.
4. Someone being sick happens at
Will is lining up drugs here, we
nearly every student party, so
decided to add this in because it is
adding this to our trailer will help
something that would realistically
those who are watching relate to
happen at a student party these
the party more and relating to
days.
the trailer may mean they will be
wanting to watch the actual
soap.
5. Here you can see me and Grace using the Steady cam to film this
scene. We had to do quite a few practice shots to get it right as it was
sometimes hard to use, but in the end I believe it was a successful
shooting.
