This document discusses conventions in indie rock album covers and promotional posters. It notes that black and white colors are typically used to give an urban feel. Posters usually contain the band name and release date to promote albums. Album covers often directly reference the image used in promotional posters to link the two. Unconventional color schemes and simplistic, unique images are used to make covers stand out while keeping them simple. The document concludes that these techniques help indie rock bands effectively promote their music and albums.

The document summarizes feedback from a questionnaire given to a focus group about a music video and ancillary texts. Key points:
- The questionnaire asked both closed and open-ended questions and was completed by the original focus group used for audience research.
- The focus group understood the non-feminine representation of females in the video and how it challenged stereotypes. They also felt the editing fit well with the music and genre.
- Feedback suggested they understood references to silent film era, though the video's themes were not recognized as similar to other artists' works.
- Feedback on ancillary texts of a magazine ad and digipak was generally positive, recognizing their relationship to the video through
Ellie created a music video, magazine advertisement, and digipak that showed synergy through similar simple designs using black and white themes and fonts. Focus group testing showed 100% recognized the products came from the same artist and genre. The products can be analyzed using three audience theories: the effects model sees the audience as passive receivers, uses and gratification sees them as active users fulfilling needs, and reception theory looks at how the meaning encoded by the producer is decoded by audiences, who may disagree, negotiate, or agree with the implied meanings. Ellie encoded meanings around disability and femininity that audiences may interpret differently.
The proposed music video will tell the story of the Elephant Man through a narrative set in the countryside and cobblestone streets of Norwich, England. It will feature the band member's family and friends acting as characters including the Elephant Man, a Bearded Lady, a Clown, and a Woman. The black and white, silent film-style video aims to match the band's vintage country/alternative rock style through costumes, lighting and location. It seeks to highlight the song's lyrics and story over 3 minutes through various shots and quick edits.
The music video will tell the story of "The Elephant Man" through a narrative and performance-based style. Inspired by silent films, it will use exaggerated movements and expressions to follow one band member, Ronnie, as he is pursued but later accepted once his humanity is recognized. The video aims to match the band's vintage country style through location, costumes, and theatrical presentation.
The document outlines a filming schedule for several days in December. On Sunday the 1st, solo shots of an abandoned asylum will be captured using a camera and tripod. Outdoor woodland scenes on the 4th only need a flashlight. The same shots from the 7th to the 8th will be refilmed during the day requiring the same group, equipment and props.

The role of The Shade will be easiest to cast as the entire body will be covered. Mini-auditions will be held for all roles to ensure the best casting choices or find alternatives if needed, and availability is important so filming is not delayed.

This document analyzes how the poster for the film "Insidious" conforms to characteristics of the thriller genre. It discusses how the poster features a child demonstrating signs of demonic possession through his scratched-out eyes and expressionless stare, implying narratives of being watched and possibly murdered. Shadows, confined spaces, and a figure in the window also denote themes of being watched and watched typical to thrillers. Elements like shadows, the clouded sky, isolated house, and near-dead trees and leaves further iconographic connections to darkness, evil, death, and isolation common in the thriller genre.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
