Shauna Hogan introduces herself as a 26-year-old with Down's Syndrome. She has had success as an actor, appearing in several shows. She also loves Irish dancing and has won medals in competitions. Shauna is an accomplished swimmer who has represented Great Britain, winning medals at the Special Olympics World Championships. She works as a catering assistant and enjoys the independence it provides. In her spare time, Shauna likes performing, swimming, spending time with friends and boyfriend Richard.

3. ACTING
• I love acting and dance
• I have been in lots of shows
• I was member of 20 Stories High Young Actors Company
• I have been in Crashed Standard Promises the
Elasticated Sound System and Indebted
• I have recently auditioned and been accepted as an
actor with Lime Pictures
8. Dancing
•I started dancing when I was 4
•I did ballet tap and disco
•When I was 8 I started Irish Dancing
•I have won lots of medals and trophies
•I have danced at the Irish Dance World
Championships
•Our group came 9th in the World
11. SWIMMING
• I train twice a week with Cheshire Penguins
• I have won lots of medals for swimming
• I Swam for the GB Special Olympics Squad
• In 2012 I won 2 Bronze medals and 1 Silver at the Special Olympics
World Championships in Puerto Rico
• In June 2014 I swam for GB in Los Angeles and won 2 Silver medals and
1 Bronze medal at the Californian Special Olympics
• In 2018 I was captain of my team I won 21 medals this year and was 3rd
in the club medal table.

18. MY WORK
• In March 2018 I did a 12 week work placement at the Reader Café in
Calderstones Park Liverpool.
• I really liked working there and in June 2018 I became a paid Catering
assistant.
• I love my job
• I work in the kitchen
• I sort the bags and napkins
• I do the teas and coffee
• I clear the tables
• I am a waitress
• Sometimes I work in the Ice Cream Parlour

• I like to work to earn my own money
• It makes me feel more independent
• I like to meet and talk to people
• The money I earn helps me to pay for the things I like to do
• I can buy new clothes go out with my friends and get my nails done
