PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Created a “continuous readiness” program with “books of evidence” that resulted in
excellent results for a recent CMS validation survey.
Redefined, developed and coordinated the Risk Management Program with emphasis on
risk mitigation, claims management, quality of care and patient safety.
Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate the Emergency Preparedness and Response
Program for Mercy Hospital and its affiliates. Maintain, update, and revise, the Emergency
Operations Plan on an annual basis. Develop, administer and participated in multiple drills.
Apply for and received funding through Homeland Security Grant Programs
Developed, implemented and managed an Office Practice Risk Management Program for
75 practices at a 250 bed acute care hospital.
Successfully created the Customer Service Representative Volunteer Program for the
Emergency Department.
Originator of the Nurse Coordinator Program in the ED
Established a more efficient patient flow process in the Ambulatory Surgical Unit at MMC.

Developed long and short-term division goals, and provided direction for the development of
new initiatives and programs.
Developed and managed a $2.2 million operating budget, which included equipment
purchases, supplies, and staffing in the Emergency Department.
Lead a $1.5 million dollar ED renovation project through to near completion.
Ensure adherence with Joint Commission, State and Federal guidelines.
Executive leader with an oversite of over 150 FTE’s of clinical staff including recruitment,
hiring and retaining of nursing staff, performance management, scheduling, staff education,
and management of quality patient care and nursing practice. Ancillary departments such as the
Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, Nutrition Services, PT/OT, Respiratory Therapy and Case Management
also reported to me.
