More about the presenters:
Dr Elmari Mulder Craig has been in private practice for almost 20 years where she
combines her years of experience in the fields of psychotherapy, couples therapy,
hypnotherapy and sexology. She is a Director and President of The Southern African
Sexual Health Association (SASHA) and is a renowned clinical psycho-sexologist,
psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist, couples therapist, public speaker and
published author. She is also part of the multidisciplinary team in private practice, My
Sexual Health. She is considered a specialist in the field of relationship and marital
therapy and sexology.
Elmari is one of only a handfulof South AfricanpractitionerswhopassedtheEuropean
Federation of Sexology and the European Society for Sexual Medicine’s psycho-
sexology exam. She is now an EFS/ESSM: European Certified Psycho-Sexologist (ECPS).
She received a PhD in Sexology (Magna Cum Laude), a Master’s Degree (Cum
Laude) and studied under the renowned Prof Domeena Renshaw at the Loyola
University, Stricht School of Medicine: Sexual Dysfunction Clinic in Chicago, USA. She
is registeredasa Clinical HypnotherapistwithThe WellnessInstituteinWashington,USA
and is also registered with The Traumatic Incident Reduction Association (TIRA) in
Michigan, USA as a Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) Facilitator. Elmari is also
registered in America and South Africa as an Emotionally Focussed Therapist (E) EFT.
She is a sought after speaker and travels countrywide to address professionalsin the
field, women groups, churches, private functions and corporate organisations. She is

the author of two books. “Die A-Z van Seks” and “Die sekssprokie: Misterie Ontrafel”.
She contributed to the book BLOOTS which was published in 2012 and also
contributed to 19 other books over the years. She write’s extensively for popular
magazine’s and she is one of the magazine INTIEM’s official contributors. She is often
quoted in the daily press, has a column in BEELD and regularly appears on radio and
television as an expert in her field.

Delene Van Dyk is a Director and ExecutiveBoard Member of The Southern African
Sexual HealthAssociation(SASHA),a nursetherapistand nurseeducator byprofession
and holds a BCur (IetA) fromthe University of Pretoria. She is registered to practice at
SANC (South African Nursing Council) number 13578026.
Currently she is enrolled at UNISA, completing a Masters in Health Science. She runs
her own Pretoria based consultancy, 2nd Sight Consultants, focusing on training,
development and mentorship of individuals and groups to understand Human
Sexuality better and integrating it with Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
work. Her work includesthepreventionof HIV andGender BasedViolence,especially
with regard to the needs of sexual minorities and key populations.
Delene has trained and sensitised more than 7000 people over the past 7 years,
nationally, in the SADC and internationally, developed and edited various training
materials, and presented papers and workshops at eight international conferences.
She is a member of WISH(Womenin Sexual Health) and PsySSA (PsychologicalSociety
of South Africa) and part of the multidisciplinary team in private practice, My Sexual
Health, operating from Intercare, Silver Lakes.

As a member of the core group of PsySSA’s Sexuality and Gender Division, she
contributed to the development of the PsySSA Sexual and Gender Diversity Position
Statement. She is a Director and Executive Board of SASHA (The Southern African
Sexual Health Association).

meaning

Historical Aspects of Human Sexuality
Sexual Function is very closely connected to social transitions. Modern society
is, globally, characterized by intense mobility and rapid changes, which
naturally, are followed by corresponding changes in human sexual behavior.

expression of diverse sexualities.

attention to some psychological and cultural aspects that can have an
influence on it.

The above topics will be presented over a full two-day workshop. Two workshops are
to be presented: in Pretoria on 13 February 2015 and in Cape Town on 20 February
