This document discusses using node.js and Socket.IO for real-time communication between web and mobile applications. It describes using nginx as a reverse proxy for a node.js server with Socket.IO to enable real-time features across platforms like HTML5, Objective-C, and Flash, with an open-source Socket.IO wrapper called GFS.I.OAS3 to allow communication between Flash and Socket.IO. It concludes with a demo of this real-time communication at a given URL.
