   Periodic Self or Medical Assessments
     OGTT
     Weighing yourself daily and weekly at the program
     Blood Pressure
     Cholesterol
     Liver function tests
   Nutrition Classes
   Exercise Classes
   Gardening
     Harvest together each week and take home shares
     Whole families are welcome

Objectives
   Meet the staff.
   Learn about session logistics.
   Discuss guidelines for being in a group.
   Learn about the main results of the Diabetes Prevention Program
    (DPP) and the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study
    (DPPOS).
   Review conditions that increase risk for diabetes (pre-diabetes and
    metabolic syndrome).
   Receive an overview of the Intensive Lifestyle Intervention Program.
   Learn the two Intensive Lifestyle Intervention goals and why they
    are important.
   Discuss key aspects of the lifestyle coach-participant relationship
    and sign the agreement in the participant handouts.
   Begin to self-monitor weight.
   Learn the reason for and basic principles of self-monitoring.
   Learn the importance of measuring foods.
