Reporters research and write news stories which are edited by various staff before publication. Stories go through several stages of editing including by the chief reporter, news editor, web editor, sub-editors, and proofreaders. Stories are laid out on pages along with photos and headlines. The finished newspaper pages are then sent to printers to be printed, bundled and distributed. The process involves collaboration between reporters, editors and other staff to research, write, edit and produce the newspaper under tight deadlines each day.
