4. 38 Ifanyone is ashamed of me and
my words in this adulterous and
sinful generation, the Son of
Man will be ashamed of
them when he comes in his
Father’s glory with the holy angels.

Israelites saw Moses, his face
was radiant, and they were
afraid to come near him.

9. 9 Thetrue light that gives
light to everyone was
coming into the world.
10. We have seen his glory, the
glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
11. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey,
suddenly a light from heaven flashed
around him. 4 He fell to the ground and
heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why
do you persecute me?”
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are
persecuting,” he replied.
12. 12 I
turned around to see the voice that was
speaking to me. And when I turned I saw
seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the
lampstands was someone like a son of
man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his
feet and with a golden sash around his
chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like
wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like
blazing fire.
13. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a
furnace, and his voice was like the sound of
rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held
seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was
a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like
the sun shining in all its brilliance.
14. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and
the exact representation of his
being, sustaining all things by his powerful
word. After he had provided purification for
sins, he sat down at the right hand of the
Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much
superior to the angels as the name he has
inherited is superior to theirs.

16. 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish
the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to
abolish them but to fulfill them.”
17. 19 Obviously,the law applies to those to whom
it was given, for its purpose is to keep people
from having excuses, and to show that the
entire world is guilty before God. 20 For no one
can ever be made right with God by doing
what the law commands. The law simply
shows us how sinful we are.
18. 21 But now God has shown us a way to be
made right with him without keeping the
requirements of the law, as was promised
in the writings of Moses and the prophets
long ago. 22 We are made right with God
by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And
this is true for everyone who believes, no
matter who we are.
19. 23 Foreveryone has sinned; we all fall short of
God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, with
undeserved kindness, declares that we are
righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus
when he freed us from the penalty for our
sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the
sacrifice for sin. People are made right with
God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed
his life, shedding his blood.

21. In the past God spoke to our ancestors
through the prophets at many times and in
various ways, 2 but in these last days he has
spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed
heir of all things, and through whom also he
made the universe.

23. 16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord,
the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the
Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had
that veil removed can see and reflect the glory
of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—
makes us more and more like him as we are
changed into his glorious image.
24. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built
on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do
people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives
light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same
way, let your light shine before others, that
they may see your good deeds and glorify
your Father in heaven.”
25. 6 For God, who said, “Let there be light in the
darkness,” has made this light shine in our
hearts so we could know the glory of God that
is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 We now have this light shining in our hearts,
but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars
containing this great treasure. This makes it
clear that our great power is from God, not
from ourselves.
