This document contains notes from an algebra class discussing the relevance of algebra, tips for success, and the learning process.
1) It addresses a student's question about when they will use algebra by explaining that some algebraic skills will be useful after high school, and that obtaining a diploma requires algebra courses.
2) For students unsure of their math abilities, it provides reassurance that algebra is mostly about applying rules rather than complex calculations, and lists basic math skills needed for success.
3) The learning process is outlined as a progression from the teacher demonstrating examples, to partner work, to independent practice reinforced through various assessments.

The process of learning algebra should ideally teach students good logic skills, the ability to compare and contrast circumstances, and to recognize patterns and make predictions. In a world with free CAS at our fingertips, the focus on these underlying skills is even more important than it used to be. Learn how to focus on thinking skills and incorporate more active learning in algebra classes, without losing ground on topic coverage.
Vedic Mathematics is a system of mathematics that allows problems to be solved quickly and efficiently. It is based on the work of Sri Bharathi Krishna Thirthaji Maharaja (1884 – 1964), who devised the system from a close study of the Vedas. The Vedas are ancient scriptures of India that deal with many subjects. It is based on 16 sutras (aphorisms) from the Vedas that provide a principle or a rule of working to solve a problem. These sutras may be ancient in origin, but are still relevant to modern day mathematics.
A lesson plan provides you with a general outline of your teaching goals, learning objectives, and means to accomplish them, and is by no means exhaustive. A productive lesson is not one in which everything goes exactly as planned, but one in which both students and instructor learn from each other.
Lesson content acts as the backbone of any learning experience. It gives the necessary information and guidance for learners to grasp new concepts, acquire skills, and broaden their understanding of the subject matter. Well-designed and engaging lesson content lays the foundation for effective teaching and learning.

graduate degree in business or management can transform your professional life, opening the door to pro-motions, new opportunities, and new careers. For better or for worse, which business school you attend depends to some degree upon how well you do on the Graduate Management Admissions Test®(GMAT®).
Like the SAT®exam, ACT Assessment®, and GRE®test, the GMAT exam is a standardized test designed to help schools determine how well you might succeed in their graduate program. Of course, the GMAT exam is just one of the tools schools use to assess a candidate’s knowledge and skills, and it is by no means a def i n-itive measure. But it is an important test, and because your scores can determine your eligibility for certain programs and give you an edge over other candidates, it is important that you do well on the exam.
The GMAT exam is sponsored by the Graduate Management Admission Council®(GMAC®), a non-prof i t association of representatives from business schools around the world. Nearly 2,000 business schools use the GMAT exam, which is developed and administered by the Educational Testing Service®(ETS®), the same organization that develops and administers a number of other standardized tests including the SAT and TOEFL®exams. The majority of people taking the GMAT exam seek to enter MBA programs, but an increas-ing number of other graduate business and management programs are now offered, and many of these pro-

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. Smart TV Buyer Insights Survey 2024 by 91mobiles.pdf91mobiles
91mobiles recently conducted a Smart TV Buyer Insights Survey in which we asked over 3,000 respondents about the TV they own, aspects they look at on a new TV, and their TV buying preferences.
2. Q. When am I ever going to use this?
A. 1) While you're in high school...Almost all of it you'll
see again.
2) After high school/college... Some of it never, ever again.
Other parts, however, (equations, percents, fractions) you
will use in your adult life.
3) But really, you're asking yourself the wrong question.
Algebra is the first of three math classes you need for your
high school diploma. The correct question is...When will I
ever use my diploma? We all know that without it, your
life will be very, very different. ( In a not so good way)
3. Q. What if I'm not very good at math?
A. You're in luck!!
Here's the math you must know to be successful in Algebra:
1. Know your multiplication tables well. (This is not math)
2. Be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert
between fractions, decimals, and percents.
Except for the math listed above, Algebra is all about
memorizing the rules, and applying the correct ones to a
given problem.
4. The Learning Process
1. I do, you watch and ask when needed
2. We do together, I ask you, you ask me
3. You teach each other, I observe
4. You do on your own
5. Our Learning Process
1. I do, you listen, take notes ( vocabulary, formulas, practice
problems), and ask when you have questions.
Notebook -- 10%
2. We will work some problems together from the
assignment.
3. You and your partner will teach each other --
Class work 20%
4. You do on your own -- Khan Academy 20%,
Tests --40%, Final Exam -- 10%
6. Algebra: What it is and isn’t
Algebra is: A system (set of rules) for solving problems
involving mathematics.
Algebra is not: The only method to solve problems. In fact,
every problem we do this year could be solved without
algebra. It would take a lifetime to do it, though.
Understand this….
There are no Algebra problems. There are problems which can
be solved easier by using Algebra as your solution system.
For example, let’s solve this problem without algebra first:
Two more than the sum of three consecutive numbers is 200.
7. A Simple Algebra Rule Example
1. 8 + 7 = 15; 8 = 2. 15 – 7 = 8; 15 =
3. x + 7 = 15; x = 4. x - 7 = 8; x =
5. 8 * 4 = 32; 8 = 6. 32/4 = 8; 32 =
