1- Waste change the climate of our planet. I also think that all gases coming out from cars, trucks and factories affect the climate and all of that like waste. All these greenhouse gases can be very toxic and affect the environment. I believe that the United Nations is responsible and can play a great role in reducing waste . The U.N should push countries to limit waste by enforcing rules and laws that may protect the climate and the environment. Companies are also concerned with waste and should use production machines that do not pollute the planet.
2- Managing waste is a challenge in many countries. Many nations produce a lot of trash which is not recycled and thrown as waste in the ocean or land. It is essential for these countries to implement initiatives that would reduce waste and protect the environment. I personally try to recycle all the items that can be recycled because I believe that recycling can reduce waste significantly. I believe that if all people start to recycle and reuse their used products and materials, the world will be a cleaner place with less waste and less environmental problems. I also tell my friends and family members about the benefits of recycling and I encourage them to recycle all items that can be recycled
3- Waste is going to be a continued problem especially in the United States because of how dependent Americans are on convience. To many, recycling is too much of a chore and an addition to their already long to-do lists, so thats why they don't participate. Personally, to take away from it being a chore, I placed a 3 bin seperator next to my trashcan for my roommates and me to use for recycling. There is a bin for paper, one for plastic, and one for aluminum. The cardboard goes next to the bin. By doing this, when you go to the trash can to throw something away, the other options are right there and it isn't a chore to do.
4- Recycling is an important way to keep our ecosystem safe and clean, but there are many that believe that its a waste of time. Many of the products that we use are harmful to the environment, and there are some of us that are ignorant about what's safe and what's harmful. I know that it can be a pain to do recycling, but its important. At my home, we have to seperate containers. We have one for trash, and the other for recycling. We dump all our recycling into our specific bins into the garage, and set them outside for the collectors to come. At college however, I threw all my garbage and recycling into one trash can, and when it was time to empty it out, I would sometimes forget to do that. In my last two years though, I was more involved in it after they had put in the recycle bins on each floor. That helped me out plenty, and I knew I was doing the right thing.
5- Waste is a problem that I think is always going to exist in some sense. I think the best thing we can do is simply cut down on our waste. If we recycled more, we would have a lot less waste in landfills. People ar ...

Saul Griffith proposes a 3 step plan to address climate change: [1] Choose a target temperature increase limit (e.g. +2°C); [2] Calculate the energy budget per person needed to meet that target; [3] Implement lifestyle changes to reduce energy consumption by 50% or more and transition to clean energy sources. The plan requires global cooperation to change mindsets and industrialize clean energy technologies. While challenging, humanity has the means if there is a shared sense of purpose like the mobilization for World War 2.

While challenging, humanity has the means if there is a shared sense of purpose like the mobilization for World War 2.
professional ethics chapter 5- global issues, business and environmental ethi...05AkshithaaMP
Global issues are problems that affect the entire planet and potentially all people living on it, such as climate change. Globalization integrates countries through commerce, technology transfer, and cultural exchange. Multinational corporations operate in multiple countries and can benefit both host and home economies but also cause social and environmental problems. Business ethics principles for multinational corporations include respecting human rights and cultures in host countries and providing fair compensation. Environmental ethics concerns the moral issues around protecting the environment from harm caused by industry, technology, and human activities like waste disposal. Major global environmental issues include plastic waste, e-waste, pollution from industrial waste, depletion of the ozone layer, global warming, and acid rain.

2. SIMPLE SENTENCE STRUCTURE
• CONSISTS OF ONE INDEPENDENT CLAUSE. (AN
INDEPENDENT CLAUSE CONTAINS A SUBJECT AND
VERB AND EXPRESSES A COMPLETE THOUGHT. IT CAN
STAND ALONE AND MAKES SENSE WITHOUT ADDING
ANY CLAUSES)
3. EXAMPLES OF SIMPLE
SENTENCE:
• AIR POLLUTION IS AN IMMENSE ISSUE.
• CARS RELEASE TOXIC GASSES.
• GLOBAL WARMING IS AN ALARMING ISSUE.
• THE RATE OF OBESITY IS INCREASING RAPIDLY.
• AIR AND WATER POLLUTION ARE GETTING WORSE.
• THE RATE OF CAR OWNERSHIP HAS GRADUALLY GROWN.
4. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF COMPUTER
IN EDUCATION?
•ONE OF THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF
USING COMPUTER IN EDUCATION IS
CONVENIENCE.
5. Computers are important in the modern world.
Formula = SV
However, it can have more than one subject and verb:
2 subjects:
Computers and other technological devices
are important in the modern world.
Formula = SSV
2 Verbs:
I search for information and play games on my computer.
Formula = SVV
2 subject and 2 verbs:
My brother and I search for information and play
games on our computers.
Formula = SSVV
6. ACTIVITY:
ON A PIECE OF PAPER, PLEASE MAKE SOME SIMPLE
SENTENCES ABOUT THE FOLLOWING : ( 2 SENTENCES EACH )
• POSITIVE EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGY
• NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGY
7. COMPOUND SENTENCE STRUCTURE
• IS TWO (OR MORE) INDEPENDENT CLAUSES JOINED BY A
COMMA, CONJUNCTION OR SEMI-COLON. EACH OF THESE
CLAUSES COULD FORM A SENTENCE ALONE.
FANBOYS
for, and, nor, but, yet,
so
8. EXAMPLE OF COMPOUND SENTENCE :
• AIR POLLUTION IS AN IMMENSE ISSUE, BUT THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT
TRYING TO DEAL WITH IT.
• CARS RELEASE TOXIC GASSES, AND FACTORIES EMIT A HUGE AMOUNT OF
CARBON DIOXIDE.
• GLOBAL WARMING IS ALARMING, SO THE GOVERNMENT HAS LAUNCHED A
NEW ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY.
• THE RATE OF OBESITY IS INCREASING, AND PEOPLE HAVE A SENDENTARY
LIFESTYLE.
• COMPUTERS ARE USED WIDELY IN MOST COUNTRIES; THEY ARE A SIGN OF
PROGRESS.
• CAR OWNERSHIP HAS INCREASED DRAMATICALLY; IT HAS BROUGHT SO
MUCH CONVENIENCE IN OUR LIFE.
9. ACTIVITY
• TAKE OUT THE PIECE OF PAPER WHERE YOU WROTE YOUR SIMPLE
SENTENCES EARLIER. THIS TIME, MAKE SOME COMPOUND
SENTENCES BY COMBINING YOU OWN WORK WITH YOUR
SEATMATE.
Example:
Student A’s sentence :
The internet allows students to
gather information conveniently.
Example:
Student B’s sentence :
Modern technology has
made online interaction
possible.
Modern technology has made online interaction possible,
and the internet allows students to gather information
conveniently.
10. COMPLEX SENTENCE STRUCTURE
- CONSISTS OF AN INDEPENDENT CLAUSE PLUS A DEPENDENT CLAUSE.
- (A DEPENDENT CLAUSE STARTS WITH A SUBORDINATING
CONJUNCTION OR A RELATIVE PRONOUN, AND CONTAINS A SUBJECT
AND VERB, BUT DOES NOT EXPRESS A COMPLETE THOUGHT.)
12. EXAMPLES OF COMPLEX SENTENCE
:
• CAPITAL CITIES WHERE NUMEROUS AUTOMOBILES ARE UTILIZED TEND TO BE
MORE POLLUTED THAN RURAL AREAS.
• IF THE GOVERNMENT CONSTRUCTS COMFORTABLE AND AFFORDABLE
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM, THE RATE OF CAR OWNERSHIP WILL
AUTOMATICALLY DROP.
• INDUSTRIAL FACTORIES THAT ARE OFTEN LOCATED NEAR THE BODIES OF
WATER ARE CONSIDERED AGENTS OF POLLUTION.
• EVEN THOUGH TECHNOLOGY HAS BECOME MORE ADVANCED THAN BEFORE,
INTERACTION BETWEEN FAMILY MEMBERS IS LESS NOWADAYS.
• IN ORDER TO ADDRESS AIR POLLUTION, THE GOVERNMENT MUST IMPOSE
STRINGENT LAWS AGAINST ENVIRONMENTALLY HAZARDOUS FACTORIES.
13. • PEOPLE TAKE NATURAL HEALTH SUPPLEMENTS EVEN
THOUGH THEY MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TESTED.
• I WENT TO BED AS SOON AS HE LEFT BECAUSE I WAS TIRED.
THESE ARE ALL ADVERBIAL CLAUSES. IN THESE TYPES OF
COMPLEX SENTENCE, THE SECOND CLAUSE CAN BE USED TO
START THE SENTENCE. IN THIS CASE, A COMMA IS NEEDED IN THE
MIDDLE.
• EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TESTED, PEOPLE TAKE
NATURAL HEALTH SUPPLEMENTS.
• AS SOON AS HE LEFT, I WENT TO BED BECAUSE I WAS TIRED.
14. ACTIVITY:
• REWRITE THE COMPOUND SENTENCES YOU MADE
EARLIER BY CHANGING THE CONJUNCTION OR THE
ORDER OF THE CLAUSES. YOU CAN ALSO MAKE NEW
COMPLEX SENTENCES.
• INDEPENDENT + SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTION +
DEPENDENT.
ONE OF THE MAIN POSITIVE EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGY IS
CONVENIENCE ; HOWEVER, IT LEADS TO A PASSIVE LIFE
STYE.
• SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTION+ DEPENDENT CLAUSE,
17. EXAMPLES:
• ALTHOUGH THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO DEAL WITH POLLUTION,
THEY STILL NEED TO EXERT MORE EFFORT AND PEOPLE MUST ALSO HELP
IN SOLVING WITH THIS PROBLEM.
• IF THE GOVERNMENT CONSTRUCTS COMFORTABLE AND AFFORDABLE
PUBLIC TRANPORATION SYSTEM, THE RATE OF CAR OWNERSHIP WILL
AUTOMATICALLY DROP AND THE AMOUNT OF CARBON DIOXIDE
PRODUCTION WILL ALSO DECREASE.
• INDUSTRIAL FACTORIES THAT ARE OFTEN LOCATED NEAR THE BODIES
OF WATER ARE CONSIDERED AGENTS OF POLLUTION BECAUSE THEY
RELEASE TOXIC WASTE INTO THE WATER.
• IN ORDER TO ADDRESS AIR POLLUTION, THE GOVERNMENT MUST IMPOSE
STRINGENT LAWS AGAINST ENVIRONMENTALLY HAZARDOUS FACTORIES
FOR THE CONSERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT.

COMPOUND-COMPLEX SENTENCES:
a. WHAT ARE THE MAIN CAUSES OF ENVIRONMENTAL
POLLUTION?
b. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO REDUCE THE PRODUCTION OF
CARBON DIOXIDE?
c. WHY MANY STUDENTS GO ABROAD TO STUDY
ENGLISH?
20. NOTE!!!
• THE TENSE OF THE VERB DOESN’T AFFECT THE SENTENCE
STRUCTURE. WHETHER YOU ARE USING SIMPLE PRESENT
TENSE OR PRESENT PERFECT, IF YOU ONLY HAVE AN
INDEPENDENT CLAUSE, IT IS STILL A SIMPLE SENTENCE.
• HOWEVER, USING DIFFERENT TENSES CORRECTLY GIVES
YOUR ESSAY A BETTER ELABORATION.
