Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

✅What is C++ Programming?
C++ is an enhanced and extended version of C programming language, developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1979 as part of his Ph.D. project. Bjarne developed what he called ‘C with Classes’ (later renamed C++) because he felt limited by the existing programming languages that were not ideal for large scale projects. He used C to build what he wanted because C was already a general-purpose language that was efficient and fast in its operations.
✅C++ Career Prospects:

Hence, C was born in 1972 at Bell Laboratories. A remarkably simple and highly readable programming language resulted in groundbreaking advancements in the IT industry.
✅What is C++ Programming?
✅C++ Career Prospects:
With just C++ programming expertise, you will have excellent job opportunities, salaries, and career prospects. However, for a career based on programming languages such as Java and Python (which are in more demand than C++) or for careers based on front-end, back-end, and full-stack

28. Egzamino programos reikalavimai:
◦ Orientuoti vertinimą į B1 ir B2 mokėjimo lygius;
◦ Tikrinti gebėjimus rašyti asmeninį laišką ir rašinį (esė);
◦ Vertinti pagal programoje pateiktus vertinimo kriterijus.
Akivaizdu, jog programos ir „Metmenų“ aptartys
skiriasi. Pavyzdžiui....
29. Egzamino programoje „Metmenyse“ (150 psl. –

the UK. She wants to know what music you like. In your
letter
thank your friend for her letter;
describe your favourite music and give at least two
reasons why you like it;
ask your friend about her favourite music;
invite her to come to a street music festival in Lithuania.
You should write 100-120 words. Please count the
number of words and write it in the space below the letter.
38. 1) Thank you very much for the letter you sent me.
I’ve just decided to drop a few lines about my
favourite music.
2) It’s true that I listen to music a lot, but it never
occurred to me that you’d want to know more
about it . In the past I had lot of metal and rock
in my playlist ….
3) I would like to know about your music also. Can
you give me some examples?
39. 1) I think you should really come to a street music
festival in Lithuania.
2) Enough about my music, tell me about yours!
3) I’m asking because there is a street music
festival held in Lithuania next month and I’m
looking forward to going there with you! Write
back. (name)
„įveda“, o išvada atsako į klausimą „kas iš to?“ (so
what?).
41. Kohezija ir koherencija (junglumas, rišlumas,
logika ir t.t.)
42. Unity of language vs. Unity of thought
Koherencija – minties rišlumas.
Kohezija – teksto rišlumas.
Pavyzdys:
◦ She wrote her first novel at the age of 40. Publishers in
London were not willing to publish it.
◦ She wrote her first novel at the age of 40. It took her

because of the strong vocals of Florence Welch.
Also, I love (…)
44. To start, I really enjoy rock music. Well, it
helps me to reduce my stress level whenever I get
bad grades and feel sick of school. Also, the rhythm
of that music makes me forget all my problems. So,
it’s interesting what’s your favorite music?
Lastly, I wanna invite you to a street music
festival…
45. Tik jungtukai – itin ribotas rišlumo priemonių arsenalas
Netinkamai vartojami jungtukai – teksto blogybė
Jungtukai lietuvių ASK rašytinėje anglų kalboje
(Juknevičienė 2011):
◦ Tyrimai rodo, kad lietuviai ASK mokiniai jungtukų vartoja
gerokai daugiau negu jų bendraamžiai gimtakalbiai.
◦ Minčių nėra, bet jungtukų – daugiau negu reikia.
◦ Kylant kalbos mokėjimo lygiui, rašytinėje kalboje jungtukų
mažėja, nes randasi kitokių rišlumo priemonių.
46. Žodžiai pagal dažnumą kalboje skirstomi į
◦ Dažnus (artikeliai, prielinksniai, modalieji veiksm., įprasčiausia
leksika)
◦ Retesnius (pvz., elderly, assume, dose, dot, illegal)
◦ Akademinę leksiką (pvz., argument, objective, research)
◦ Retą leksiką (pvz., illegitimate, ignorance, melodrama)
Žodyną sudaro ne tik pavieniai žodžiai, bet ir keliažodžiai
junginiai:
◦ Fraziniai veiksmažodžiai
◦ Kolokacijos (high temperature, not *tall temperature, to pass a law,
not *to accept a law)
◦ Samplaikos, neturinčios atitikmenų lietuvių kalboje (in terms of, in
relation to)
47. Problema: B1 lygio vartotojas neturi
