Typical types of shared support spaces are: conference rooms (12 people), restrooms (per code),
kitchenettes, 3 workshops (general and craft specific) and (in our case) a small lecture hall (100
people) for conferences. You are required to provide a commercial space similar to the Storefront
for Art and Architecture in NYC.                                                                            The three story building can be entirely renovated and spaces can be built upwards as long as the
                                                                                                            extension stays within 20 feet above the current parapet line and does not increase the total square
                                                                                                            footage of the existing building by more than 15%. Parking and site planning need to be configured

Programming being an important assessment criteria for this semester, this program is given only as
a base to be altered, debated, rewritten according to the stance that this first phase and the vision
statement are setting forth. A more detailed program will be given to you before Phase 2 and you’re
first task then will be to rewrite it according to the criteria discovered during Phase 1
