This document provides instructions for using self-checkout in the Dietel Library. It explains how to log into the library system using your email and birthdate, select the circulation tab, scan the barcode of an item to check it out, and see the due date on your account. Users can check out books for 4 weeks, DVDs for 2 weeks, and request renewals by email if they receive an overdue notice. Items should be returned in the wooden bin under the librarian's office window.

1. Self Check Out
In Dietel Library~
A brief tutorial.

2. Click on EW icon.

3. Click on “EWS” link.

4. Login-top right corner.

5. Your email username +
birthdate (mo/da/year).

6. Select “Circulation” tab.

7. Input username one more
time. Click “Find Patron”.

8. Select your name to open
your account.

9. Find the Emma barcode
on the back of the book.

10. Scan it! Was the title
added to your account?
What’s your due date? (It
will tell you to the left.)

11. Logout.

12. • Books: 4 week checkout
• DVDs: 2 weeks
• If you receive an overdue notice, please hit REPLY and
ask me to renew it for you.
• You can check out as many items as you can be
responsible for, but remember we have a flat fee of $30
per item lost.

13. • Please return materials to the wooden bin under
Ms. McClellan’s office window
(not the black hole that is my desk).
