This document lists selected publications by M.N. Starkman focused on three main areas: women and reproduction, psychiatry in medicine, and hormones and their effects on the brain, cognition, and mood. The publications examine topics such as the psychological effects of fetal monitoring, premenstrual dysphoria, parent-to-adolescent transplantation, and functional upper airway obstruction. Several publications study the effects of cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine levels on mood, cognition, hippocampal volume, and anxiety in patients with Cushing's syndrome or pheochromocytoma. Later publications also examine the psychological impact of terrorism.
