3. SECURITY MEASURES FOR CASH REMITTANCE
● Remittance is to be done in Cash Van or Four Wheeler
Vehicles.
● Cash Van must have Alarm system and Fire Extinguishers
● Avoid Three Wheeler Vehicles. Two Wheeler Vehicles
should not be used
● Cash Remittance may done on foot provided the distance
is short (within complex) and the remittance must not be
over Rs. 2 Lakhs.
● Cash must be carried in Steel Boxes only.
● Armed Guard must sit in front in the VAN

● Remittance is to be done during Day time only.
● Where a taxi is used the cash box must be kept iside the
car and NOT in the lugguage boot/carrier
● Taxi driver Should NOT be TOLD about the destination
where cash is to be remit
● Bait Money is usually placed in the remittance amount, in
the cash safe and at the counter. This is usually fresh notes
with sequence numbers.
5. IF SECURITY VAN IS NOT APPOINTED
● Less than Rs. 20 Lakhs then cash transfer to near
currency chest or Bank branch
● Two Bank Officers – Generally CRO and ABH
● Security Guard with Bank officers
● Record in the Cash Remittance Register before leaving
the Branch

8. IF SECURITY VAN IS APPOINTED
● Security company is Registered and Licensed
● 1 Security Officer 2 Armed Guard
● Locked Cash Box with 2 seperate Keys
● Keys kept with different Security
● Before leaving the branch, Recored in Cash Remittance
Register verified by Security officer
9. SECURITY MEASUREMENTS
● Route always be changed
● In doubt of Robbery, Cash Van should be reached nearest
to Police Station or come back to Branch
● In doubt of Robbery before leaving the Branch, Branch
Head will inform to Cluster Office
● Cash VAN vehicle always be changed
● Remittance should be sent during Daytime
10. SOME SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR
CASH AT BRANCH COUNTERS
● Regulate customer traffic in work area, especially
where cash is handled
● Allow access to cash counters only to authorized staff
● Proper illumination around the cash counters should be
provided
● Counter should be designed at two levels
● Cash should not be left lying scattered at the counter

● Glass partition with a small semi-circular hole should separate Teller
from customer.
● Proper locking arrangement of cubicles and drawers is to be ensured
● Keep Cash Safe away from public view.
● Do not entertain enquiries from public at cash counter.
● Transfer excess cash from counter to strong
room periodically.
● Security arrangements and deployment of security
guards should be reviewed from time to time.
