Rationale• To allow for gradual transition to Secondary 1 Science as there are more biology topics taught in the primary school.• To allow for gradual transition from Lower Secondary Science to Upper Secondary Science as most students offer Physics and Chemistry in upper secondary.
Food Science Module in Semester 1, an integrated approach (Science and F&N subjects) to the understanding of topics such as digestion, blood circulation, balanced diets, cooking and nutritional requirements. Students learn to conduct food test and carry out research, evaluation and decision making.Environment Module in Semester 2. Process Skills of Science will be taught in the context of the environment in particular on water and land. Students learn how to make observations, process and analyse data, and plan scientific investigations.
Humanities Subject such as Geography and History are often seen as subjects that only requires regurgitation of facts. (memory work) The focus has changed for these subjects and assessment skills involves thinking skills. For example, the assessment for History involves Source-based Questions.
