700 posts – 1 menu, organizing a large info site with taxonomies and facetsBecky Davis
Ever been on Amazon, searched for shoes and then filtered results to show women’s and red? Yep, WordPress can do that.
How do you set up an informational site that has over 700 pages and is constantly growing? How will anybody find anything? By crafting the menu and template pages to show categories of items and allowing the user to filter the results. Through the use of custom taxonomies, template pages with custom queries and a faceted search result, we’ll walk through how a site can be setup so that it can grow and maintain it’s consistent structure. Even if your project only has 70 posts, being able to cross-reference them with multiple terms so that no matter how they look for things, the information will be found, is very powerful.
This session will be useful for site owners, designers, devs & UX people who are looking for new ways to organize content that go beyond endless hierarchal dropdown menus.
Presentation given at Montclair State University's Graphic Design II course on Introduction to Web Design. This presentation was geared towards year two graphic design students with little to no exposure to web design and predominant print backgrounds.

Web Development Course in Delhi. What counts the most to online businesses is their website. It is their way of reaching out to their clients, telling them about their product and service, and completing them to take effort.
This is why a bunch of enterprises that originally thought against building a website and in favour of persisting with their physical presence have realised how essential a website is for obtaining contact with better individuals and selling more

BACKGROUND
I have been in Web Development for 12 years, employed as a full-time web developer. Experienced primarily as a
front end developer in Responsive Design and build, CSS using Dreamweaver and Photoshop development tools,
but can turn my hand to Graphic Design, CMS, Javascript and Jquery implementation.
During my employment I have worked closely with software developers to implement .Net controls for a Holiday
Park Management system, eCommerce and Content Management Systems. I don’t write code, but I have an
understanding of many development techniques and can often manipulate existing Jquery and Javascript code to
make it do what I want in most cases.
I am prepared to new and learn in-house systems if required. Daily experience using Responsive Design and
build, CSS Media Queries, Social networking, Google Web Validation tools, Analytics, Webmaster Tool, Places,
Gmail, Docs.
My Strengths lie in CSS website build, no tables for page structure, responsive design and build, cut-up build from
PSD design proofs, skinning Twitter, Blogger and Wordpress. Fine tuning, researching and implementing organic
SEO, CMS implementation from in-house systems and good understanding of Joomla CMS, and an in-depth
knowledge of my current employer's in-house designed and developed CMS and eCommerce systems. I have
recently been getting to grips with the Bootstrap CSS Framework.
I am very keen to work on websites that require good design, functionality and usability where I feel my skills can
be best used.
I taught myself from scratch while I was working self employed as a model artist in 2004. I had started my interest
in web design and development in 2002 and spent two years honing my skills before finding employment as a
Developer with Netguides in Cowes in 2005.
I feel there are so many aspects to working within web development that it’s impossible to cover everything I can
in this CV without swamping it with too much information, but would be more than happy to openly discuss other
aspects during an interview and am always happy to learn new skills.

HOBBIES & INTRESTS
I am a keen cyclist, runner and swimmer. I have been racing bikes since 1992 in all disciplines and
have had a lot of success, mainly at Veteran level. In 2011 I was South of England Veteran Cyclocross

I am still racing bikes but also running and trying my hand at Duathlon and Triathlon.
I like to read fiction and non-fiction, and I enjoy music, mainly Indie and Rock.
I have a keen interest in the internet as a whole and social media which makes my work enjoyable as I
feel I work in an area that genuinely interests me.
Most of all I like to socialize with my sporting friends and keep myself busy with training, eating and
sleeping.
