- Best weather for fishing is a day to two days after a storm as fish come close to the shore to feed off the food bounty washed out of the sand and off the rocks by big seas. Big seas and strong turbulence are generated in storms and pound into the coastline this is a dangerous time for anyone venturing out to fish. Calm settled but overcast weather can be productive if not to bright. Bright hot weather is not to good as fish move out of the shallow inshore water until darkness falls , however mid and top water species tend to stay in shore and feed best as the sun is starting to settle in the evening. High atmosphere pressure tends to push the sea flat while low pressure causes the sea to rise up , low pressure systems bring good fishing
