Ng Eng Teng was a Singaporean sculptor who won the Cultural Medallion award in 1981. He was trained in painting but furthered his studies in ceramics in England. When he returned to Singapore in 1966, he created many large-scale public sculptures depicting humanist themes. His works often featured interpretations of the relationship between mother and child, or father and child, exploring themes of love, hope, and human experiences.
