1. Script.
FADE IN:
EXT. JOB INTERVIEW - DAY
It is the day of SOPHIES job interview, the screen starts as SOPHIE walking to the room where the interview will take place, she
knocks on the door and approaches the interviewer LAYLA. She has a nervous look in her face as this is her first interview.
Sophie shakes her hand and sits down.
SOPHIE (shakes hand and sits down)
Hello; my names Sophie and I’m here for my interview.
LAYLA politely greats her and gets out for paper work to takes notes on how the interview goes. She looks at her paper and
starts to talk.
LAYLA (sits down)
Hello Sophie take a seat, firstly I’m going to ask you a couple of questions. At the end of the interview I will add up your score
and compare them to the other people who have been interviewed. Firstly can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Sophie is worried because she is scared she is going to answer the questions badly and fail the interview and not get the job.
She starts playing with her fingers as she is nervous.
SOPHIE
Well basically I am very hardworking, sociable and all round a friendly person… errrm… also I am errrm
The interviewer can see SOPHIE is nervous and is overthinking of what to say so she speaks to her to try calm her down.
LAYLA
Its fine Sophie, take your time.
Sophie takes a deep breath and carry on with the interview.
SOPHIE
Also I am approachable and my friends would describe me as funny, good to be around, I always have a smile on my face and I
am an all-round team player. I also enjoy working solo sometimes.
SOPHIE is relieved she has answered it and she thinks she has answered it correctly. LAYLA makes notes and carries on asking
questions
LAYLA
Well done, so what can you bring to our company?
Sophie smiles as she has practised this question over and over again as she knows this is one of the most important ones.
SOPHIE
I can bring my great smile and my happy personality. I am good at advice and I am a very sociable person. I have good customer
service skills and I can work in a team.
SOPHIE looks worried as she feels like it is going badly, she carries on smiling like nothing is wrong.
LAYLA
Okay, so if you was successful what hours could you work?
Sophie started thinking as she needed to know what hours she could work.
SOPHIE
I can work every day after school, I don’t want to work on Friday or Saturday nights.
LAYLA looked at SOPHIE in a weird way as she thinks SOPHIE is not dedicated to work and only want to focus on her social life.
Suddenly SOPHIE’S phone starts ringing and she starts apologising and is getting very worried.

2. SOPHIE
I am so sorry for that, I should ofput it on silent.
LAYLA starts shaking her head and taking notes, she carry’s on with the questions as prepared for the interview.
LAYLA
Its fine, we all make mistakes. Have you got any experience in customer service?
SOPHIE is thinking weather or not she should tell the interviewer about her old job as she got fired because she was late.
SOPHIE
Yes I worked for a company in Northwood but I left because I did not like it there.
LAYLA is surprised because she thinks SOPHIE is not suitable for the job. She looks at her weirdly and starts writing on her
paper.
LAYLA
Okay, can you give me the name of the company as I need to get a reference from them?
SOPHIE is worried because she has lied to the interviewer, she has told her that she left but really she got fired.
SOPHIE
Errrm… actually I haven’t been honest with you, I actually got fired, but it was because I was late for personal reasons.
LAYLA shakes her head and carries on writing, she puts her paper work together and gets up.
LAYLA
Okay, I think that’s enough questions. I need to add up your score, wait one moment please, I will be around 5 minutes. I will
be back to tell you if you have been successful or not.
LAYLA leaves the room and SOPHIE gets her phone out and rings back her friend who was trying to call her earlier.
SOPHIE (stands up and walks around the room on her phone)
Why did you ring me, my phone went off in my interview, it has ruined my chances of getting a job now. I have to go because
the woman will come back in in a minute and tell me if I have the job, I will ring you after my interview.
SOPHIE put the phone down and walks over to the window and stares out of it, she knows she is not going to get the job.
LAYLA enters the room by the look on her face SOPHIE knows she hasn’t got the job.
LAYLA
I have the results of your score and I am now going to tell you if you have been successful or not.
The scene ends as a close up of SOPHIE’S face who looks really worried.
