Gibby is an unpopular boy who struggles at school and with his friends. His friends Lynn, Joe, and Zach are more popular and athletic. Gibby's friends want to help improve his confidence by encouraging him to talk to a girl at the pub, but Gibby collapses from nerves before reaching her. A film about Gibby is announced that will show his journey to gain acceptance and save his struggling self-esteem.
