When I think about how Earth was formed, I always
have this question in my mind how could those scientist say that it
was really happened, do they hold sufficient evidence to proved
their observation. But as I explore more about the Earth Science it
was not difficult to understand how the earth was formed and how
the earth works, little by little I was able to answer my questions.

How am I going to use what I
have learned?
Take the opportunity to share it to my loved one and to the people
around me. Earth Science is such a good subject to disseminate
information. Everyone obliged to know the history of the earth. If I
will be given a chance to taught science I will teach my student every
details I know about it.
How can I improve my learnings in this topic?
I easily forgot things so I always prepare notes that could help me ,if
I need to scan it again. I can also improve my learning by
collaborating with a study partner so we could share each other’s
thought.
Why is a need in learning this topic?
Every discussion about Earth is necessary to know. It is important for
us to value the idea of how the earth was formed and where did we
come from.

What I have learned?
I have learned the different evidences proving that the
supercontinent Pangaea separated into continents
I have also learned that the plate tectonic theory could
explain not only all the Wegener’s observation, as well
as other significant geologic phenomena
I have also learned how the measurements of
paleomagnetism have helped to prove plate tectonics
happens
I have also learned the different methods that the
scientist use to describe and measure the velocity of
plate motion
I have also learned that the salt in sea water is carried to
the sea by rivers, and to a lesser extent comes from
hydrothermal vents. As well as how the process of
evaporation works
How am I going to use what I have
learned?
I can also use what I have learned to educate myself more and
not to take for granted what God had given to us.

about how our earth started and came into existence

In this chapter, I learned how important any mineral and

Volcano is one of the most interesting topic in earth
science so I always look forward of learning more
about it. Some of the things that I have learned is

and what causes the magma to be released.
I have learned how does igneous rock form, its
different types as well as its characteristics.
I have also learned that erupting volcano can trigger
tsunamis, flash floods, earthquakes, mudflows and
rock falls.

I will use what I have learned to inspire people. It is not
easy to understand things especially if it is not your
comfort zone but giving chance to it will help you to
improve and little by little you will be so interested

In order for me to improve my learning in this topic, I

Volcanic eruption is terrifying it not only erupts it also
kills people. It is necessary to be aware of anything
related to volcano – how to prevent? What dos and
don’ts during volcanic eruption? What causes?
Especially those people who lives nearby prone areas.

I have learned that despite chemical weathering and physical
weathering are two different process they could still work
together by maintaining stability to the natural world.

they came from. I also discovered that in order for them to
form there are 4 ways. Sedimentary rocks form at near the

associated with plate tectonic activity. There are many kinds of
sedimentary basin and all of these came from the context of
plate tectonic theory.

natural world. It is important for them to know that every small details
about earth like sedimentary rocks makes a big contribution the modern
world.

I have learned that the formation of metamorphic
rock is different from the formation of sedimentary
and igneous rock. Metamorphic rock is form by the
process of metamorphism.
As I read more, I have discovered the agents of
metamorphism, the rock types that form as a result
of metamorphism, and the concept of metamorphic
grade.
I have also learned the sources of energy that drives
the rock cycle and how this rock cycle contribute to
us.

friends and family the importance knowing the formation
of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rock

or flow) and how to describe and interpret
the geologic structures that result from
their deformation.
We need to know how did the

the earth. Through this topic I have learned
that mountains are built by plate tectonic

Earth’s crust to rise.

Mountain formation is one of most fundamental topic in
science. As we look on mountain sides, there is no question,
that we stare at it with full of admiration. Anything about
mountain is beautiful so it is interesting to study it.

most of the earthquakes take place when a stress

Learning this topic will help them to be prepared in

I have learned the difference between relative age
and numerical age and how these two became the
way for determining the age of rocks
I have learned that before geologist could not
determine the numerical age of the rocks instead
they could only determine its relative age until the
discovery of radioactive elements. I also discovered
that the process of radioactive decay had a big
contribution to giving numerical age to the rocks.

they form, and how their succession to the theory of
evolution.

proved that the Earth is 4.54 billion years old.

Mass wasting is destructive. If it triggers it would bring
harmful effects on people. That is why there is a need in

must know that the earth would never be flat.

I have learned that Camel is the primary transportation in
desert’s places because of its ability to withstand severe
dehydration. It was a amazing to know that there are different
types of desert found on earth, imagining how dry it is.
I have also learned that when it rains, since there is no
vegetation in the desert, it cause erosion which knocks sediment
from the ground into the air which is dangerous because it can
cause dust storm.
I have also learned that a semiarid grassland can turn into a
desert. It is because of the many factors such as human
activities. I have also learned that there was a land of semiarid
but eventually transform into a desert and the geologist named
this transformation as desertification.
