Scotland celebrates many festivals throughout the year, including Burns Night, Up Helly Aa, and several music, art, film, and whisky festivals. Scotland comprises the northern third of Great Britain, with coastlines on the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea, and shares its only land border with England. Scottish cuisine is known for salmon and haggis, a traditional dish made from sheep innards and offal served with mashed turnips. Scotland has a generally moderate climate, though it can experience periods of extreme heat or cold.
