Task 2: Personal Study
By Wayne Clementson
Martin Scorsese
 The Mastermind behind such historically famous
  works in cinema such as…

 Taxi Driver

 Mean Streets

 Raging Bull

 Gangs Of New York

 And Many Many More…
Introduction
 Martin Scorsese has been widely regarded as one of if not
the best directors of his time, and possibly of outstanding
influence for later generations to come.
 He is also renowned for his screenwriting abilities and has
also starred as an actor within his movies, most notably to
me was his spooky, chilling cameo appearance in taxi
  driver.
 Scorsese is mostly known for his bold and daring take on
film, with violence being a constant feature, a subject
  which he showed from
 All his works are of outstanding detail and generally
encompass a variety of hard hitting subjects that many
dared not touch upon. There are many quality’s that
have been taken from his films such as style
Development
 Scorsese unique and original style was always prominent
and still is distinctive through his early works to his present
productions, but one thing over time that I felt he
developed was the messages and values and projecting
  in his film

 Scorsese early work was heavily focused around
something he personally struggled with which was his
Italian/American identity. Though he tried his luck at many
heavily funded mainstream blockbusters, it was always his
individual works that stood out and became blockbusters
  on there own merit.

 Whilst he has come under many a critic and criticism, its
safe to say he used these to better his projects.
What Others Have Had To Say
 About Martin Scorsese…
 Robert De Niro who is a close friend and who
also who worked with Scorsese on many of
both their greatest films as actor and director
( taxi driver, raging bull ,casino, good fellas)

 “ I Want you to say how lucky I have been to
know and work with you other the years…I
  been very very fortunate”

Conclusion
 Finally I feel Scorsese has had such an affect and
influence on the Film industry, his fast and stylish style of
editing is something that has been adopted throughout
  cinema ever since.
 His close working relationship with actors such as Robert
de niro and Leonardo dicaprio, whom the former
practically kicked started his career to stardom, is a credit
to Scorsese himself for having such a belief of the actor
and for the great consistency to contribute and create
  excellent productions
 I feel Scorsese work will continue to be of influence to
those who are aspiring to become directors, and he has
most certainly raised the bar and consistently been at the
top of his game. His Movies have challenged cinema and
its perception & outlook on how to visualize & project
  yourself.
