2. Objectives
• Introduction
• Scope of Android in Past
• Scope of Android in Present
• Scope of Android in Future
• Challenges in android
• Wide Scope for different industries
3. What is Android?
• Android is a mobile platform(OS) based on the Linux OS and
currently developed by google.
• A software platform and operating system for mobile.
• Android was found in 2003 it is developed in Palo Alto
California.
4. Scope of Android in Past
• Android came with an official IDE, Eclipse,
making use of which Android application
development was performed. However, even
IDE had bugs and was very slow. It was
unfriendly way of development.
• The first commercially available smartphone
running Android was the HTC Dream, released
on October 22, 2008.
5. Scope Of Android in Present
• Android Studio paves way for stable IDE for Android
Development. With it, Eclipse ADT plugin has become a thing
of the past. Since it is more stable, it is suggested that you
migrate applications from Eclipse to AS.
• Gradle : Using this tool, Android developers can do so many
things easily. They can test automation build servers and
automation libraries due to which a constant integration
development process of Android has become possible.
• Also support java applications and optimized graphics like 2D
graphics,3D graphics.
6. Scope of Android in Future
• The bugs which are related to the different versions of OS
and IDEs have been eradicated in the existing Android OS.
It means focus can now be shifted to other issues. One of
the prime issues related to Android Development is Java.
Developers should consider some other programming
language which can replace Java as it is not the apt
programming language for Android.
• Operating system for computer systems.
7. Scope …..
• The most interesting potential mapping innovations could come out
Google's Project Tango. This is a real-time 3D mapping technology that uses
phones with two cameras on recreate your view in 3D - a bit like Microsoft's
Kinect.
• This technology could be used not just to create cool-looking 3D maps
(imagine a 3D Streetview you could zoom around like Grand Theft Auto),
but could have practical applications too such as helping the blind and
partially sighted navigate more easily - all using the power of your phone.
8. Wide Scope For Different Industries
Having developed applications for various industries, our professionals are
efficient in utilizing vast scope of android. We have built applications for
multiple domains like:
• Entertainment
• Banking
• Location based
• Social networking
9. Challenges in Android
• Software Fragmentation
• Hardware Fragmentation
• No Software/Hardware Standardization
• Security
• Market Research Costs
• Android Market Search Engine
Android is open, Multitasking, Easy access to the Android App Market , Ease of notification
The operating system offers a customizable graphical user interface, integration with Google services such as Gmail, a notification system that shows a list of recent messages pushed from apps, and Android Market for downloading additional apps.
No Software/Hardware Standardization: The huge number of devices running Android gives rise to another Android app development challenge
