How do toe prints and
fingerprints compare?
      By:Nathan
Question
• How do toe prints and fingerprints compare?
Hypothesis
• I think all the prints will be different.
Materials
The materials I will need are ink
pad, paper, and a towel.
Procedure
First I will get out the ink out. Then I will get out the paper and put it on the table.
Next I will put my hands and feet on the ink pad. Then I will put my hands and
feet on the paper. Finally I will compare the toe prints with the fingerprints.
Procedure
My uncle put my fingers on the ink pad and then
rolled my fingers on the paper to get a print of each
finger. Then he got prints of all of my fingers at one
time.
Procedure
He did the same thing to get my toe prints.
My fingerprints
My little piggies!
Observations
When I observed my finger and toe prints I
was mostly paying attention to what print was
on each finger and how it looked.

I was looking to see what type of prints I saw.

I was looking at the shapes.
Types of prints
The 3 main prints are the loop, arch, and the
whorl.
•The loop is supposed to look like a ton of lassos
going one direction.

•An arch is well supposed to look like an arch.

•A whorl looks like a toilet bowl or a tornado.
These are my fingerprints.

                             arch
CONCLUSION

The most common print on my prints was the loop.
There were 9, or almost half of the prints. The least
common print was the whorl which had only 5
prints, just a quarter of the prints. In the middle is
the arch which had 6 prints.

None of my fingerprints and toe prints matched
each other but they were all either a loop, a
whorl, or an arch.

Fingerprints and toe prints are different.
VARIABLES
One variable is that I rolled my fingers when I
made my prints. It could have changed if I
didn’t.

Also if I used someone else’s finger and toe
prints, it could have turned out differently.
