Scholarship Information
The Erie County Association of Township Officials   The Erie County Association of Township Officials  is offering 2 scholarships in the amount of $500 each to 2 selected students of Erie County.   Applicants must be a senior, live in a Township in Erie County, and have been accepted to an accredited college, university, or school which offers a 2 or 4 year degree/certificate program.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
The Robert C. Edwards Scholarship Foundation $1,000 scholarship to seniors accepted to an accredited College, University, or School that offers a 2 or 4 year degree/certificate program.   Applications may be picked up in the Guidance Office and must be postmarked by  May 2, 2008 .
Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.   Application Process: Students will submit an essay on one of the two topics that appear on the scholarship page of our  website:  http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarshipawards.htm    Scholarship Deadline: June 20, 2008.
AES Engineering Amount of award: $500.00 Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to  one of the two  questions : 1. What do you consider to be the single most important problem that is facing society today? Why?  2. Why are you a good candidate to receive this award?  Deadline for entry: September 15, 2008.   Submit essay to:  [email_address]  . Be sure to include your full name as well as the name of the school you are attending in 2007/8 and your plans for 2008/9.
BigSun Scholarship The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Local scholarships available in the office after Christmas… The Elk Valley Garden Club  is offering a $500 scholarship to a senior attending either GHS or GACA.  The senior must be accepted at an institute of higher education offering either an associate or bachelor degree, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, complete the application form and submit an essay on an assigned topic.  The Rebecca Kuzma Widdecombe Scholarship  has a scholarship for a Girard High School senior who plans on seeking further education and has a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The scholarship is worth $1,000.   The Girard Athletics Boosters Inc Scholarship  is available to seniors that participated in varsity sports at GHS.   The American Legion Post 494 Scholarship
Local scholarships available in the office after Christmas… The Girard-Lake City Chamber of Commerce Scholarship  is available to Girard School District residence high school seniors who will be attending college, business, or trade school as a full time student.  The Girard Federation of Teacher’s Education Scholarship Award  provides $500.00 to an eligible GHS senior planning to enter the Teaching Profession.  The applicant must have been accepted into a four-year accredited college or university in the Field of Education, possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher, complete the application form, and compose an essay on “Why I am entering the Teaching Profession.”
