This document summarizes Schedule D of drugs that are exempted from provisions regulating import. Schedule D includes substances not intended for medicinal use, substances used as both drugs and food (like condensed milk and cereal preparations), and drugs/cosmetics imported for manufacture and export by units in Special Economic Zones. These exempted drugs can be imported without restriction if in bulk and certified as non-medicinal, or are exempted from all import provisions if also used as food. Drugs for Special Economic Zones require an import license and must be imported through notified ports, and cannot be diverted for domestic sale.
