registration number 5104 in 2007, based in Hyderabad, Sindh province of

• More than a half million women cotton workers are engaged in cotton
picking a seasonal labor to earn cash/livelihoods
• Lack of literacy
• Poor bargaining and negotiation powers
• Lack of climate risk reduction skills

Project description:
The project support will sustain the impact of decent work and women
economic empowerment for the women cotton workers and outreach
from the 1050 to 3000 more and institutional development of
organization.
The solution will increase the access of women cotton worker to better
and decent working conditions and economic empowerment. The
solution will organize 3000 women cotton workers on labor rights,
decent working condition, social and occupational safety and climate
change adaptation and 1500 women with literacy and offseason
poverty reduction support –training and organize them into group and

10. Literacy for Rights Protection of Women
Cotton Pickers in Matiari District, Sindh,
Pakistan

Location : 10 new villages of district Matiari
Budget : 16000 GBP
Period: 6 months
Project description: To improve the literacy skills
among 350 women cotton pickers in Matiari District,
Pakistan, enabling them to secure fairer wages and
safer working conditions.
11. Impact of Asia Gender Equality Fund
• SCF has its increased visibility among potential donors by developing
communication material, annual reports, brochures
• SCF is applying climate change adaptation and safety with livelihoods resilience
intersection with labor rights protection
• Improved communication and resources to reach out potential partners and
stakeholders
• Increased financial portfolio has increased and improved financial and
monitoring system, increased number of staff has attracted other donors and
implement solution in well manner.
• Two potential donors assessed after receiving the grant and expansion of literacy
and income generation and climate change intersection model to an other cotton
producing and climate hit district Sanghar in Sindh .
• Women led climate adaptation and tree plantation campaign started resulted
3000 tree planted
• Eco friendly shads designed to be installed
