Albina Mshila founded Villa 16 Star of Hope in 2005 to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in Taita Taveta County, Kenya. She currently cares for 23 children, including 8 with HIV, in her 3 bedroom home. In 2007, a borehole was gifted to the organization but the solar pump broke and needs repairs. Without functioning water infrastructure, the children must play in dusty conditions and the organization buys expensive delivered water. Repairing the borehole by buying a new pump, treating the water source, and setting up maintenance would allow Villa 16 to grow vegetables, generate income, and provide cleaner water for the children and village.
