11:00 John arrives and unlocks the food pantry.
11:15 The grocery carts and supplies for the homeless need to be unpacked.
11:20 John sets up tables for the homeless.
11:25 The shelves are pretty bare!
11:30 John checks the storage area to see what we already have.
11:45 Marilyn arrives and checks the mail for letters for the homeless.
12:00 A generous supporter has dropped off donated food!
12:15 The Feeding America truck arrives.   We get a delivery once a week.  Feeding America provides food for a handling charge of $ 0.18 per pound.
12:15 Today three pallets of food are being delivered.
12:20 Here it comes!
12:25  It takes about an hour to unload and unpack the delivery.
12:30 Stocking the shelves.
1:20 Done! The shelves are now full.
1:45 Today volunteers from USF are organizing the food pantry and helping families.
2:25 Volunteers set up a hot meal for the homeless.
2:35 The food bank provides clothing as well as food.
2:40 We are ready to welcome our families.
2:50 The first family arrives at the registration table.
3:00 Full house!
3:05 Volunteers assist our families in selecting items from the food pantry.
4:20 The last family has gone through the food pantry. Today we served 17 families with 42 family members and 24 homeless individuals. This week we provided emergency food and support for 68 families with 141 family members and 79 homeless individuals. 24 17 42
4:25 Now it’s time to put away carts and supplies and get the room ready for Sunday.
4:45 Marilyn locks up after a long—but great—day!
