John arrives at 11:00 am to open the Kaye Prox Food Bank for the day. Volunteers help stock shelves that were bare in the morning by unpacking donations and a delivery from Feeding America, which provides food at a low cost. Throughout the day, volunteers help families select items from the full shelves of the food pantry and a hot meal is provided to homeless individuals. By the end of the day, 17 families with 42 family members and 24 homeless individuals had been served by the food bank.

2. 11:00 John arrives and unlocks the food pantry.

3. 11:15 The grocery carts and supplies for the homeless need to be unpacked.

4. 11:20 John sets up tables for the homeless.

5. 11:25 The shelves are pretty bare!

6. 11:30 John checks the storage area to see what we already have.

7. 11:45 Marilyn arrives and checks the mail for letters for the homeless.

8. 12:00 A generous supporter has dropped off donated food!

9. 12:15 The Feeding America truck arrives. We get a delivery once a week. Feeding America provides food for a handling charge of $ 0.18 per pound.

10. 12:15 Today three pallets of food are being delivered.

11. 12:20 Here it comes!

12. 12:25 It takes about an hour to unload and unpack the delivery.

13. 12:30 Stocking the shelves.

14. 1:20 Done! The shelves are now full.

15. 1:45 Today volunteers from USF are organizing the food pantry and helping families.

16. 2:25 Volunteers set up a hot meal for the homeless.

17. 2:35 The food bank provides clothing as well as food.

18. 2:40 We are ready to welcome our families.

22. 4:20 The last family has gone through the food pantry. Today we served 17 families with 42 family members and 24 homeless individuals. This week we provided emergency food and support for 68 families with 141 family members and 79 homeless individuals. 24 17 42
