A small town in southern Germany called Fussen is home to two castles. One is Neuschwanstein Castle, built in 1869 by King Ludwig II and inspired by German legends like Lohengrin, the Swan Knight. The other is Hohenschwangau Castle, the childhood home of King Ludwig II located in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps near the town of Fussen which has a population of 14,000 people.
