coach Mitch Chase is a lifelong
South Bay resident who at age
15 got a job as a fitness trainer
in exchange for the free gym
membership. By age 17, he knew
this would be his career path. Mitch
majored in kinesiology and physical education
at CSU Long Beach and spent years studying
nutrition, exercise physiology and biomechanics.
He holds numerous nationally accredited
certifications, he’s published hundreds of articles,
and gives speeches on nutrition, wellness and
strength training. Mitch was recently named one
of “LA’s Top 5 Trainers” on the LA Hotlist! He
and his wife, Jamie—a former Ms. Galaxy fitness
competitor, have been married for 13 years. In their
spare time they volunteer with cat rescues.

What would you like
potential clients to
know about you?
“Since 1988 I’ve
coached thousands of
people. Over the years
I’ve learned why some
people see fast results
while others don’t, and
I’ve discovered that the
solution for one individ-
ual may not be the same
for another. That’s why
I take the time to listen
and learn about you
and your challenges. I
troubleshoot your routine
and diet, and help you
focus on the few impor-
tant things you should
be doing differently to
finally achieve the results
you desire.”
Who is your typical
client?
“My clients include
actors, CEOs, fitness com-
petitors, firemen, police
women, runners, former
NFL players, tennis
players, skiers, golfers,
doctors, lifeguards, yoga
instructors and even
other personal train-
ers. Often I work with
people who have reached
a plateau with their diet
or exercise and need
help losing those last few
pounds, or rehabilitating
an injury.”
What’s most reward-
ing about your work?
“I love seeing the
transformation in my
clients—not just in their
bodies, but in their lives.
I feel so blessed to have
had the opportunity to
help so many people
improve their lives for
the better.”
What is unique about
your style and tech-
nique?
“With each client, I
complete a thorough
fitness evaluation, body
composition and nutri-
tion profile for their body
type, and I regularly
monitor and measure
their progress. I also
give each of my clients
an education by break-
ing things down simply
so they understand how
to listen to their body
and select the right food
combinations.”
