2. La trochita or Old patagonian railway
• It’s construction began in
1908. The Trochita railway
is 402 km in length and
runs through the foothills of
the Andes which is one of
the highest mountain ranges
in the world
3. The overlander
• The Overlander was a long-
distance rail passenger train
between Auckland and Wellingto
n in the North Island of New
Zealand, along the North Island
Main Trunk. It was called one of
the best-value scenic rail trips in
the world by the
British Guardian. It is also
acknowledged as one of the
world's classic scenic rail
journeys.
4. Maekong railway
• The railway became famous
for its route through the
Maeklong Railway Market,
nicknamed (Thai: ตลาดร่ม
หุบ; RTGS: Talat Rom Hup),
meaning the "umbrella
pulldown market"Whenever a
train approaches, the awnings
and shop fronts are moved
back from the rails, to be
replaced once the train has
passed.[9].[8]
5. White pass and yukon railway
• The railroad began
construction in 1898
during the Klondike Gold
Rush as a means of
reaching the goldfields.

• The first phase of the line
began construction on 5 April
2007. Line 3 is the longest
single monorail in the world by
track length. Line 3 is also the
world's busiest monorail line
with a daily ridership of over
675,000 passengers per day.
7. Wuppertal monorail
• The Wuppertaler
Schwebebahn is a suspension
railway in Wuppertal, German
y. The first track opened in
1901. The railway line is
credited with growth of the
original cities and their
eventual merger into
Wuppertal.[2] The Schwebebah
n is still in use as a normal
means of local public
transport, moving 25 million
passengers annually, per the
2008 annual report
8. Glacier express
• The Glacier Express (GEX) is a
direct train connecting railway
stations of the two
major mountain
resorts of Zermatt and St.
Moritz via Andermatt in the
central Swiss Alps.
9. Cass scenic railroad
• It consists of the Cass Scenic
Railroad, an 11-mile (18 km)
long heritage railway owned by
the West Virginia State Rail
Authority and operated by
the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley
Railroad. The park also includes
the former company town of
Cass and a portion of the summit
of Bald Knob, the highest point
on Back Allegheny Mountain.
10. Howrah railway line
Howrah Junction in India holds the
record for being the busiest station
and the station with the highest
number of platforms and passenger
volume in India. Since the Victorian
times, this station has been an
important and busy rail junction.
This is one of the ancient stations
that are still in use since the
19th century.
11. Kami-shirataki railway line
• The Kami-Shirataki
train station is
located in Japan's
north island of
Hokkaido. It
operated for three
years for one
schoolgirl only.

• Eurostar is an
international high-speed
rail service connecting
the United
Kingdom with France, Belgium,
and the Netherlands. Most
Eurostar trains travel through
the Channel Tunnel between the
United Kingdom and France,
owned and operated separately
by Getlink.

14. Maglev train in shanghai – the fastest one
• Connecting Shanghai's
Pudong airport with Longyang
Road station in the city
center, it has a maximum
commercial speed of 460 kph,
completing the 30 kilometer
journey in just seven and a
half minutes.

the Maglev trains fly along an
elevated track, the powerful
magnets providing a super-
smooth, friction-free ride.
